Chipotle is perhaps the worst "Mexican-style fast food" I've ever had.
MOST places, if the first visit is bad, they get a second chance...not Chipotle. Once was enough to convince me not to return.
I LIKE Mexican food. It's probably my favorite style of "ethnic" food...Hell, it's the best thing to ever cross the border!!
But, Chipotle should die a quick and painful death.

I LOVE Chipotle rice. I always get extra rice in my burrito and then an additional side of rice.

Burrito bowl
No beans, but extra rice
Barbacoa
Mild salsa and some hot too
Sour cream
Cheese

YUM

I just barfed in my mouth..

I perfer rice in my tex mex. Rice adds a nice place for the ultra-hot sauce to reside. Plus, it is virtually free and fills you up more. What isn't there to like?

Like others have said, you can always ask for no rice. But then, your sauce will run out of the burrito leaving you with tasteless beef in a tortillia.

Rice is fine....in moderation. Give me fajita meat and beans with a some salsa and cheese, and fill it the whole burrito with it!

hah wow, i thought my wife and i were the only people who got no beans and extra rice. we too always get the bowls, always get extra rice, and always get no beans.

but i get a tortilla for the side to eat with it.

i eat there usually about once a week on average, sometimes more sometimes less.

and wtf @ the butchering of spelling "chipotle"

I don't dislike or particularly like Chipotle. It's better than taco bell IMO.
Around here, they only put rice in their "Fajita Burrito", otherwise, they put beans...

Rice is awesome.

That's why it's called a "California burrito." They've been around for quite some time, long before Chipotle appeared.

Chipotle cilantro rice is like crack. I love it. Go to taco bell if you want a closer approximation of Mexican food. Sad, but true. 😀

they use very fresh ingredients, though.

If you are attempting to argue that they are somehow worse than Taco bell in terms of "Mexican style fast food," then I will be forced to assume that you are clinically insane.

Taco Bell isn't "Mexican food" either, but I'd rather eat from one of the many taco trucks than I would from Chipotle. Granted, I might have a greater chance of food poisoning...but the food would taste better. 😛

nothing wrong with taco trucks, of course. I still don't know why people want to confuse Tex Mex with Mexican food. ....much less the type of Mexican food you find in the states vs Mexican food...

I really don't how anyone can say Chipotle sucks. I mean you may think its just OK but... how could people think it actually tastes bad OR is expensive?

Chipotle and Qdoba are two of my favorite places to eat and a giant burrito bowl is like 7 bucks. All the ingredients are super fresh (compared to most places I go to, including a few 'real' mexican restaurants) and the flavors go so well together.

Yeah its not authentic mexican food but its awesome, whatever you want to call it.

Also if you call it Chipotles you are an idiot.

EDIT but if there were any taco trucks or local taco joints around me I would eat at them every day.

WTF? I'm pretty sure people in Mexico had no idea what a Cruchwrap Supreme was before YUM! foods invented it.

Del Taco OTOH actually has some items that would pass for authentic. Their Del Carbon tacos are a passable facsimile for a real Mexican street taco.
