Why does Chipoltes put rice in its burritos?

Prior to the age of 'beefing' up burritos to make them appear large by using .01 cent rice and fooling the gullible gringos, a beef burrito was filled with beef!

Now you have a publicly traded company making money by selling customers nothing but rice burritos for $5 each? I pity those that fall for it. D:

Troll thread? Or is this just another history of food thread.

I order it because it tastes good. Sorry?

You are in Texas.. look up a new chain called "Bullritos" mush better than crappy Chipotle.
and for 2 dollars more they will pack that thing with double meat..

awesomeness...

Im talking about truth in advertising. If they want to to sell a beef flavored rice burrito for $5 each, then why not say so?

But no!

They call it a 'beef fajita' burrito making you think that for $5 you get a large tortilla filled with beef fajitas, veggies and a little rice.

I second that

I dont really care for Freebirds either.. they seem just like another Chipotle or even Mission Burrito..

the meat is kind of just bland to me.

I've eaten at both the Houston and College Station Freebirds. wasn't that impressed.

I like my Tex-Mex food sans meat. I like Chipotle's burritos, and if there's meat in mine, they fucked it up.

freebirds > *

houston is swimming in burrito places right now. chipotle from denver, freebird's from college station, and the home grown bullritos (brought to you by the same people as beloved patriot's and gringeaux). there's also a couple mission burritos around still.

I don't care what they advertise. If people found that to be such a big problem, I'd imagine their lines wouldn't be practically out the door many times when I drive by the couple that I live by.

i prefer Qdoba, and unless you have a social anxiety disorder, it really shouldn't be that hard to say "no rice"

I perfer rice in my tex mex. Rice adds a nice place for the ultra-hot sauce to reside. Plus, it is virtually free and fills you up more. What isn't there to like?

Like others have said, you can always ask for no rice. But then, your sauce will run out of the burrito leaving you with tasteless beef in a tortillia.
