Why do Americans hate Canadians?

I would bet money that an overwhelming majority of Americans would say they not only don't hate Canadians but rarely even think about Canada unless they happen to live within driving distance of the border. On the other hand I would bet money that a much larger percentage of Canadians would say they hate the US and everything American so maybe the question should be why do Canadians hate Americans?

Last time I was in Montreal they had pretty much everything we have here plus Tim Hortons and Harveys. Even better they had the Famous Delly Boys in Cote St Luc that made an awesome smoked meat sandwich so who needs the fast food places? 😉

I think the Easterners get more of this stuff than us Westerners. I don't really eat fast food, but maybe I would if there were more options available to us out here.
