Why are Joe Biden's gaffs an issue with the right?

Since they support Trump clearly Biden would need to talk non-stop for almost 5 years to come close to him. Yes Biden is gaffe prone compared to a real President like Obama but are gaffs really an issue??

Haha, it's all part of the #bothsides rationale. Holding others to a standard one cannot meet themselves makes good politics in conservative america

It's because they don't have much else to stand on.

Biden may put his foot in his mouth entirely too often, but he's still everything Trump is not: intelligent, competent, (reasonably) truthful, compassionate. They can't really attack Biden on issues when he's moderate (thus fending off the "omg too progressive" whining) and the adult in the room compared to Trump, the overgrown toddler with perpetual temper tantrums.

While I don't want the economy to tank, I can't help but wonder what happens if there is a recession as the 2020 election swings into high gear. Trump will lie about his responsibility and try to blame a downturn on anyone but himself, of course, but it could be amusing to watch as he truly flounders in debates and loses any hope of winning undecided voters.

Think he'll try to blame it on Obama?

We know the answer, it’s because of the D in his party name.
There are tons of things like this:
Why do deficits only matter when it’s a D
Why do deficits not matter when it’s an R
Why does Obama not get to seat a SC Justice on his final year but per Moscow Mitch he’d sit one in Trumps final year
Why does welfare to poor people matter only when it’s a D doing it
How is the above different from Coal/Steel and farming subsidies

We know the answer it’s not about gaffs it’s about winning. Consistency or ethics don’t matter when the only goal is to win.

It's not just with the right....

This video talks about it and contains an actual compilation of Joe Biden gaffing for about a minute.

You know that if a certain other white man about Biden's age was laying down as many gaffes the media would be talking about it much more than they are talking about Biden's gaffes

Also

Biden allies float scaling back events to limit gaffes

Allies to Joe Biden have been floating the idea of altering the former vice president's schedule in an effort to reduce the gaffes he has made in recent days.

The allies, growing increasingly nervous about Biden's verbal flubs, have said it's an approach that's been suggested to campaign officials on the heels of the former vice president’s stumbles.

We don't need to send someone, with any appearance of sliding a bit, against the actually mentally deficient Trump. Why would we want that?

Uhmmm, if you’re referring to Trump the amount of gaffes he makes like this are several orders of magnitude more than Biden and the media barely mentions it. Forget gaffes, Trump shows significant signs of current and accelerating dementia and at times is totally incoherent yet for some reason nobody wants to discuss it. Even worse is you can see clear decline from earlier in his life.

That’s why it’s hypocritical for conservatives to care about cognitive decline for Biden. Any worry an objective person would have about Biden should be ten times higher for Trump. Trump’s decline is downright scary.

Remember GWB's gaffs and how the left reacted? Same reason.

My point was that it's not just conservatives talking about it. And yes it is hypocritical for them to talk about it while ignoring Trump's obvious decline.
as the video stated why would we (when there are other candidates) choose a Democratic Candidate who is doing some of the same thing. Some liberals are also talking about it too.
And I think with good reason.

Being serious I don't remember that much shame given from them other than stuff like George does it again or him being portrayed as a dummy.
I really don't remember racial stuff.

"George Bush doesn't care about black people."

I think GWB gaffs were pretty routine on The Daily Show back then. I remember them being plastered all over. Of course, he kept giving them fresh material. That guy can see a shoe flying at him from a mile away, though.

A quick googling revealed the Kanye West produced that song.

Fine to disagree it remember Bush gaff being laughed at more than anything, he had a good sense of humor over them too.

It's election time and the brain-washers are out in force to seed their their politically motivated propaganda and fix various bigoted preconceptions into our heads. These, like virus, will then be disseminated and spread by the various forms of talking heads and forum posters. All of this will hook onto our various paranoid fears or try to balm the. Hereis a nice one for the Biden terrified and it even might make sense. I know I am now quite relaxed:

All our lives we have been told what to think.

Biden's gaffes are preferable to Trump's gaffes/nonsense, but how many people would be motivated to Vote for a gaffe machine? The minute Trump started Naming/One Lining Biden, the comebacks will probably be weird gaffes all on their own that will sink Biden. He is simply not Fit and the sooner Dems realize this the better.

Just an update -- almost a year ago I asked Alexa to list all of Trumps lies or gaffes and well the truth be told - she has not stopped talking since!!!

When you say "The Right" - do you just mean Fox News?

I mean, aside from it affecting his electability, I don't really care about his gaffs. I honestly just wanted him to be the candidate, but it does admittedly throw a wrench into wondering if he will win if he keeps making dumb statements.

If dumb statements were a concern for republicans, then we wouldn't have Trump. In fact, maybe he just say the most stupid statements he can, as emphatically as he can, win those swing States
