I bet the guy behind you getting a wiff of your exhaust feels the same way about you.

the cars of today are getting cleaner by the year by most reports - the point is the cig smoke is so pungent it stands out easily. And by the way since you need to be spoon-fed about statistics, please use google it is your friend.

this thread is becoming really boring - a lot of you helped the OP make the point about how smokers are rude apparently. LOL.

I just asked 9 people if they've ever been in their car with their windows rolled up and smelled smoke from a person smoking in the car in front of them. All 9 said never. I think the problem here is you have some super sensitive Blood Hound like nose. the 9 people I asked don't smoke themselves. You are not the normal, I'm sure if I asked 100 people less 2 max would make the same retarded claim you have.

the one making the claim is the one responsible for backing it up with evidence

Who cares how "clean" cars are getting. Close your garage, turn on your car, and you'll die.

Close your garage, buy out every sig in a 5 mile radius and smoke them all. You'll cough.

People who whine about smokers are whiny ignorant hypocrites.

as a cyclist sitting in traffic breathing exhaust fumes I sometimes feel like a person being forced to breath second hand smoke.

Which is why you have an avatar that's smoking a doobie?

Thanks for proving my point about the complainers being ignorant hypocrites.

wait LOL you smell other peoples smoke in your car? with your windows rolled up? I drive daily on one of the busiest freeways in California, I don't smoke and I keep my windows rolled up. I have NEVER smelled somebodies elses smoke in my car. This is either a troll attempt or a huge shens. As OutHouse said it's in your imagination.

Absolutely. Maybe it has to do with the wind in your area or something, or that I don't have a cabin filter. I don't consider myself 'sensitive' and don't care to force them to stop smoking..

But no, no shens at all. Maybe I just so happen to notice it, I dunno.

I bet the guy behind you getting a wiff of your exhaust feels the same way about you.

Yeah maybe.

Look, I don't smoke cigarettes. I recognize that nowadays smokers know the health risks and still choose to smoke. No big deal. Smelling their smoke is annoying, but whatever.

No matter, I'm not trolling. Maybe it's less than 2-3 times a week but really... I'd guesstimate that every other day I get a whiff of some other commuter's cig smoke through my vents. This only really happens in slow stop and go traffic

Actually that's a great example - being in traffic that moves every 20-30 seconds and being stuck behind a smoker SUCKS.

The whole car exhaust argument is ridiculous. People, we the working adults, need cars so we can go to our jobs. So that we can provide the electricity, water, heat that runs to your house. That way you stay nice and cozy in your parents basement surfing teh Internets.

It's part of living in a community; the world doesn't revolve around you (referring to people who whine about smokers). Just like having to deal with loud neighbors prior to noise ordinance time of day, there are just some things folks need to put up with. If they don't like it, they're free to leave 🙂

There are plenty of ways of getting to work. Drivers choose to drive. They choose to buy a car. They choose to keep filling it with gas. They choose to buy insurance. They choose to get into the driver's seat and turn the key.

Vehicles are NOT a requirement in life.

You can walk. You can ride a bike. You can skip. You can pogo-stick to work for all we care.

You CHOOSE to drive.

i bike 25 miles round trip to work every day. people should walk anything less than 2 miles. to fucking lazy is the problem.

Being a cyclist mean he's on a bike, so obviously he manages to get around without NEEDING a car. I've worked with plenty of people who rode bikes to work. You don't NEED a car. I had an Ex Manager who rode his bike 20 miles to work every morning. Factoring in traffic it didn't take him any longer than a person stuck in traffic on the freeway. I drive because I'm too lazy to cycle, but I understand if I wasn't a lazy fuck I could easily get everywhere I go on a bike.

If you have the air circulation button off, you pull in a lot more fresh air outside. It is definitely possible.

You think your shit don't stink, hypocrite? Nobody wants the smell of skunky weed fucking up their apartment when they live next to a stoner.

Who cares, so are cigs. You've got a psychological addiction to it like smokers have a physical addiction to their nicotine.

i don't live in an apartment and my neighbors can't smell shit. how many people die from cigs? how many people die from mj? psychological addiction aren't necessarily bad. I have a psychological addiction to working out too.

or it could be the 200 lbs of tools i carry back and forth to work, or the 3 kids i drop off and pick up everyday. those could make that 20 mile each way trip a bit harder to complete on a bike. but hey, be self righteous all you want, i hear its the cool thing now.

I don't care if people smoke. It's a fucking stupid habit but it's their choice. I just care when I have to consistently smell it. We have some chain smoking neighbors that smoke so much it comes up into my bedroom window making me have to shut it on nice summer days. Or when I go for a walk and end up behind smokers stench in my air. You don't want to smell my farts, right? Well I don't want to smell your smoke. Very simple concept.

Also of note: I DON'T DUMP MY GARBAGE ON YOUR LAWN. DON'T FUCKING THROW YOUR BUTTS EVERYWHERE.

You choose where to live. You choose where to work. You choose where to drop off your kids. The distance you travel is your choice, plain and simple.

They're in public. They have just as much a right to stink up the air with their cigs as you do with your terrible cologne, farts, and stinky laundry detergent. 😀

You really aren't that bright. I live in Texas and work in the natural gas field. The facilities, equipment, etc needed to make this stuff go is across the f'ing state. I know guys that drive 200+ miles a day just to check out facilites and do work. Not counting the hundreds of pounds of equipment and tools needed to do the job. Tell me how I'm supposed to bicycle to work?

You choose the industry to work in. You choose to keep that job.

I'm not saying you should do anything differently. I'm just saying that your life is all about your own choices. Period.

As much as I dislike it, ok. I usually just go out of my way to avoid being near them anyways. However shit coming into my room is different and the littering has to stop. People think because it's a cig butt, it's not litter?!

I'm off to buy me a large can o' stink bomb and just leak it around town. I'll go stand next to smokers just to let them see how it is. That might be a good social experiment. If they tell you to go away because you stink, just say it's your right to smell up the air if you want to.
