The line's a lot longer than Saturday even though I got up early on Sunday to do this. Turns out to be a roughly 30 min wait. The real activation took 5 min though. I did the pre-auth online, but really he just asked for which iPhone I wanted, and confirmed my last 4 digits of social, bam. Done. I spent longer shopping for a case and screen protector.

It's a nice phone. Faster than my iPod 1G for sure and my gf's Touch 2G. Heavier than I imagined, but I suppose that's what a phone + case is supposed to weigh.

Anyway, came back home and gave it to my mom.

i would love to get an iphone or a pre but i can't justify going from my 48 dollar a month plan (including taxes and all) to at least 100 (over that if i go with the iphone)

Preordered mine the 12th. Received it on the 19th via fedex. I love it. Just waiting for a compatible fm tuner/charger for the 3gs.

Damn. Activated my account today and when I canceled my service with Verizon, I learned I'm going to be billed to the next billing cycle (July 23rd).

Dumb question - when I turn-on my iphone, the apple that get's displayed has a line running diagonally across it, is this normal?

No, I use aux in actually. My friend has a Griffin iTrip though and it works pretty darn good!

fwiw - Marshalls carries a number of iPhone accessories. Picked-up a black Griffin car charger for $12.99. They have a Belkin white car charger for $9.99 and a Belkin kit (indoor and car charger, fm transmitter) for $29.99
