I'm surprised it took this long to mention Denzel. A lot of good choices here already, I think my top 5 are already posted in this thread .. how could they not be?

Harrison Ford has that facial expression that never changes. He doesn't look like he is full of botox, but he might as well be. I do like his movies though. Hauer?

I'll give you the other three and add DiNiro, Nicholson, Pacino, and Depp.

Name one good movie he was in not named, Glory!

Malcolm X, Philadelphia, Crimson Tide, Courage Under Fire, Remember the Titans, and American Gangster. There are a few. Personally, I liked most (if not all) of his other movies but that's because I'm a Denzel fan, not necessarily because they're great movies. :p

Denzel crossed my mind for my top 5, but I couldn't fit him. American Gangster is a masterful movie.

I have a particular fondness for versatile actors, hence the Gary Oldman and Robert Downey Jr.'s placement.

Harrison Ford isn't particularly versatile, I suppose. Nonetheless, Blade Runner makes him my No. 1, and Rutger Hauer my number 5.

Are you serious? Try again.

In no particular order:

Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs alone was enough)
Daniel Day-Lewis (Holy shit...can anyone top this guy?)
Christian Bale (Mostly for his non-Batman stuff, to be honest)
Russell Crowe (If you disagree, watch Master and Commander, American Gangster, and 3:10 to Yuma and get back to me)
Ian McKellen

Honorable Mention:

Edward Norton, who would've made the list if not for a few duds like the Italian Job and Incredible Hulk.
