Of course people are going to say Cali is overrated because they're jealous. There is no other state as great as California. We have pretty much every type of weather there is that one could want, snow, hot, cold, mild, real seasons, no seasons, etc. No other state has this many variations of weather. LA if you want to be in the center of everything or you can live in the desert, hills, forest, mountains, or even near a vineyard. Vegas, Tahoe and many other gambling places if you're into that are not that far. Go to dinner and see movie stars, small bed and breakfasts, beaches, rivers, lakes, California has it all. You can even live in the middle of no where if you want. Drugs are easy access if that`s your thing as well.

Underrater: Dunno. I only really know about Oklahoma, and its not that great. Washington is pretty damn spiffy, and I think I'd love to live there, so maybe they're underrated

Well, its the san diegos and los angeleses and general southern coast area thats overrated. The northern half is better from what i understand

Southern California has as many great parts as Northern California has. It just depends on what you like but California has pretty much everyone covered.

California, for example. If you are from california, chances are high you will over-rate it by a large margin. If you aren't from there, you probably underrate it.

I was going to mention Wyoming, b/c it is absolutely gorgeous--one of the awesomest states to drive through. strangely, eerily beautiful landscape.

See I think Alaska is OVERrated. But it could be because I lived there for so long. I don't know how it could be underrated... every show on cable is about Alaska. Deadliest Catch, State Troopers, Flying Alaska, Ice Road Truckers, Tougher in Alaska, Gold Rush, Bigger in Alaska, Palin's Alaska... and there's probably a few more that I can't think of right now.
