California is most UNDERrated.
It's by far the most diverse state geographically, with low point (Death Valley) in sight of high point among the contiguous 48 (Mt. Whitney), snow like upstate NY, desert like AZ, rain forest like Milford Sound NZ (Cascades), islands, oldest trees, huge waterfalls, zoological and botanical diversity like no place else, etc....just absolutely magnificent physical beauty all over.
The intellectual environment may be highest too: Caltech, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Stanford, SIlicon Valley, etc. One of the big things in Texas is to work on convincing California companies to move to Texas.
California USED to have the absolute best public education system in the entire world, envy of the earth. Alas, the Democrats got hold of it and now it's socially-engineered shit. Also, alas, California is the dumping ground for the peasant class which Mexico has been aggressively exporting.
California has the best climate too. Live on the beach with NO humidity.
I've traveled probably more than most people and have really seen it all....there's no place better than California. Switzerland? no. New Zealand? no.
But the politics has ruined California over past 20 years, nmaybe we'll recover maybe not.
There are some negatives too, like all the low-morals animal-level scum from distant FOREIGN places like New York & elsewhere who move into Hollyweird and make movies & TV. That garbage has NOTHING to do with the people of California.
I also think that, speaking in broad averages, in general the people in California are more spiritually minded than most the rest of the USA.
Really too bad mexico's peasant class has overrun California like an ant swarm, and our presidents have utterly failed to defend the border. We DON'T WANT o merge with mexico. THe negative of supporting their millions of peasants outweighs, by far, any positive prospect of getting mexico's resources.
Politics has/is ruining the paradise that is California.
