I don't see why this is even an issue. You can hammer something into someone's head as much as you want, when it comes down to the act, it's their choice to make... not their educators. She made the "poor" choice and she gets to live with the consequences. Best you can say is she probably should've listened to mommy or maybe mommy should've showed them the condom and the banana 😛.

Meh. I think teen pregnancy is pretty sad and the fact that republicans are putting a spin on it to make it a GOOD thing (she's keeping it - pro-life!... she's marrying the husband, yay!) in order to better their campaign is just sick. I doubt McCain would purposely pick someone who had a pregnant 17-year-old daughter to be his VP for fear that it would hurt him. So any attempts at rationalizing it are just pandering (much like picking Palin as VP) IMHO.

You forget that it is very easy to fake when the current pregnancy started(If there even is one). First baby was born in april? That was 4-5 months ago depending on the exact date. So given enough time to start over again it is probable that she is on baby number 2 right now. Not 5 months pregnant, but pregnant nonetheless. Guess we can wait and see if current baby is born premature at full weight.

What is the minimum time delay between one baby and the next?

That's the problem with abstinence-only education. In order to promote common sense safety measures like condom use and birth control, you have to acknowledge that teenagers have sex before marriage...something Sarah Palin just doesn't want to do.

Someone asked this in another thread in P&N, and I believe someone dug up a few
photos of her wearing her wedding band recently.

I had said I wouldn't find it unusual if they didn't wear their rings from time to time, especially after I read that she still occasionally helps him out on his commercial fishing expiditions and has broken a few fingers in the process.
