Bo Jackson was overrated? WTF?

WHO said Bo was overrated?

Did you even read the article you linked?

Brett Favre rules. Just his starting streak alone proves how much of a warrior he is.

Favre did the most out of the weakest team.

Who was his best reciever? Sterling Sharpe? Antonio Freeman? They are both good recievers but man do they pale in comparison Jerry Rice and such.

HIs best running back? Anyone of them compare to Emmit Smith?

If you gave Favre the supporting cast these other HOF QB's had he definitely would've won more than 1 Super Bowl.

I think he's had some decent running backs. Ahman Green is good, and Dorsey Levens and Edgar Bennet weren't bad.

It hasn't been too bad the last couple years, but he has also had some pretty bad offensive lines too.

But the recievers have been scrubs. Freeman and Schraeder? I swear neither of them could catch. The new recievers of this year and last seem promissing, but they seem to get injured a lot more than you'd expect. It's scarey what Favre could have done with somebody as talented as Jerry Rice or Randy Moss.

some of you guys have short memories. Sterling Sharpe is a VERY VERY good WR.

ahem .. a WR is only as good as the QB. If you got a crappy quy throwing you passes, you wont be all that great.

sharpe was good BEFORE favre came to town.

sharpe was pro bowler in '89 and '90, 2 times BEFORE favre started in Green Bay.

I think he was best at using what he had. He didn't have the strongest arm or quickest release, but he had all the intangibles and a great offensive system that utilized his talents. But if you put Elway on the 49'er teams Montana played on, he would have had better numbers between the two. I mean Craig, Rice, and Taylor were better than anything Elway had until he got Terrell Davis.

yes .. but im saying it's also a ying/yang effect.

It's a shame how everyone forgets Warren Moon. It's too bad he never won or even went to a super bowl. Check out his stats for his career, including his cfl days.

compare moon to Marino,

who would you take?? don't get me wrong, moon was good, but without winning a super bowl you have to be More than just good, you have to be better than all the greats and that's marino. in my opinion the best QB of all time, not the GREATEST, but the BEST. he had the stuff. but because he never won a super bowl, he will never be an immortal.

I wasn't comparing Moon to Marino. I just find it sad that he isn't even mentioned in top 90's qb lists at all. Even Jim Kelly was mentioned on this thread. You can't argue with 70,000 passing yards. He was good for a long time, but doesn't get any credit for it.

no you weren't 🙂 i was.

here is why, Kelly is infamous for losing for superbowls so his name will always come up. the other top 90's qb's have things about them that make them famous or infamous. Elway won 2 after losing 3, aikman won 3, young won 2, . . .

marino is the BEST of all of them but he won ZERO super bowls. of course he went to only 2 and unlike Kelly they were not one after the other. what did the bills do, go to 4 superbowls in 5 years or something like that?

"marino is the BEST of all of them but he won ZERO super bowls."

An interesting conclusion..

I know you've been reading my other posts because of your replies, so there is NO excuse for you to take my quote COMPLETELY out of context.

I have stated in other posts in this thread. IN MY OPINION, Marino is the BEST QB of all time and his yardage statistics etc bear that out, HOWEVER, I have also CLEARLY STATED, that tho he is the BEST, he is not a GREAT because of his lack of Super Bowl wins.

btw, you forgot to mention Jim Kelly, mb he doesn't belong, but he was a pretty good QB nevertheless. 🙂

He never won the big game but he accomplished some big steps 😉

I hate to say it but I'd probably take Favre over Aikman too. (Being a long time Cowboys fan) Although Aikman had super precision and leadership, Favre overall was more agile and could do some things that Aikman couldn't

I would rank Favre #2 right behind Montana.

Reasons: Look at what type of team he played on...it was a bunch of Nonames before his and Reggie White's arrival. He is also a 3 time MVP and also holds the current record of Consecutive starts @ 176...the Next closest QB would be Ron Jawarski @ 116.

He also had set records for the number of Consecutive home wins @ 24. He also has a perfect record when the temp is below 32F...not bad for a Southern Boy.

I personally seen him pull a win out of the back with 2 dislocated figners on his left hand and also had a dislocated left arm...he is one tough mofo...a working man's QB never to be seen again in the NFL.

Jim Kelly was the Working Mans QB before Favre, and McNair will probably get the mantle when Favre retires.

Nah, no way you can put Favre ahead of Elway, Staubach, Unitas.

i think young would rank ahead of favre.

NFW Young inherited a good team...when he played for Tampa Bay he sucked ass...
