Where Does Favre Rank among the Immortals?

Brett Favre is about to retire.

In your opinion, where does he Rank?

Unitas, Staubach, Montana all these guys DEFINED eras and i don't really go farther back then that.

where does Favre stand?

Favre really didn't define an era like the above 3 mentioned did. He was a great QB no doubt, but he played in the same era with Elway, Marino, Aikman, Young, among others. It'd be hard placing/ranking him among the greats.

agreed.

he did win 2 Super bowls, but Aikman won 3. between the two however, i'd take Favre over aikman.

Young, if he hadn't messed with the USFL probably would rank higher, mb even among the immortals but because of his USFL experience he is definitely a 2nd tier HOF great.

Marino is the best pure passer of all time, if he had won 1 or 2 Super bowls he would rank with the top 5 to 10 of all time.

Farve was amazing in the late 90s...

Being a Wisconsin resident and a Packer fan myself I can attest to his legendary status. First, Farve is like everybody's best friend... all the guy wants to do is A) Play football for a historic team B) Live a quiet simple life down in Mississippi. Second, Farve (In the 90s) pulled off many many INCREDIBLE plays and he would always ditch the Packers out of a huge deficiet to a victory late in the 4th quater. Lastly, he would always make you keep guessing, because his plays were so spectacular you would be simply awestruck by his abilities. The guy is like a legend to us Wisconsinites (sp?).

btw, you forgot to mention Jim Kelly, mb he doesn't belong, but he was a pretty good QB nevertheless. 🙂

He never won the big game but he accomplished some big steps 😉

I hate to say it but I'd probably take Favre over Aikman too. (Being a long time Cowboys fan) Although Aikman had super precision and leadership, Favre overall was more agile and could do some things that Aikman couldn't

favre and elway are very similar to me.

Farve only won 1 superbowl-he went to 2, but lost in the second one to Denver

Really?? damn, my memory must really be failing me. Packers won only ONE super bowl the last 10 years?

Favre is one of my top 3 qb's off all time he simply kicks ass it justs that his team is not that great

ok, but i'd still take Favre over Aikman, tho i'd take Marino over both of them. 🙂

sorry, you must be like 12 yrs old.

there is NO WAY favre makes top 3. Montana, Elway, Marino are all better than favre and that's just players that he played against.

you go back thru history, staubachs, unitas's, Bradshaws, Tarkentens . . .

no way favre makes top 3.

Bradshaw belongs with that first group of three. I'd agree with Favre and Elway being close to equal. I wouldn't put them above Namath, Plunkett, Tarkenton, Stabler.

sorry, namath just didn't do it for enough years. what he have like 3 good seasons? Joe Theisman had more good years than Namath. IF Namath hadn't been QB of a New York Team, most of us would never have heard of him.

plunket, tarkenten, stabler, dan fouts mb?

here's a better question, do you think Randall Cunningham is a HOFer?

Vick, he'll be lucky to have a career as long as Cunningham. who knows?

LOL, not have heard of him ? That's funny ! Were you around back then ?

And winning the Superbowl with the Jets back then is equivalent to playing 20 years for the Redskins.
