LOL, not have heard of him ? That's funny ! Were you around back then ?

And winning the Superbowl with the Jets back then is equivalent to playing 20 years for the Redskins.

:music:

namath heads the list of MOST overrated players of all time and it's NOT just espn that believes that. link

Favre is a great QB, but he has a reckless style that sometimes puts his team in bad position. Witness last week. Sometimes I think if he throttled down a little bit, he would be more effective leader for his team. But in his defense, Green Bay would be poop without him.

LOL, thanks for the link to that hilarious article at ESPN ! Whoever wrote that ought to work for Leno ! He doesn't know anything about sports though !

he knows more than you, that's OBVIOUS.

Namath only barely completed over 50% of his passes for his career and threw more INT's than TD's.

facts are facts. namath had 3 or so GREAT Seasons, but overall he wasn't the same as good the others you mentioned.

Bo Jackson was overrated? WTF?

I think supporting cast makes a big difference in ranking great QB's.
Young, Montana, Bradshaw have great receiver. They are surrounded by hall of famers.
Not a knock against them but that makes their job much easier.
Favre OTOH does not have the same quality receiver.
He improvised to help the receiver and he have to take more risky throw because of this.
With receiver like Jerry Rice, you just throw it in his direction and he'll snag it.

Favre is a great QB because he makes things happen.

Unbiased opinion from Packers Fans !

Favre is king of the 4th quarter comebacks. I definitely think he deserves to be up there with the greats. I think the only thing him holding him back is his utter lack of charisma.

Ill always like Favre for allowing Micheal Strahan to sack him in the final minutes of the game so that he could have the sack record.

ya, strahan sucked so bad that he needed Favre help to get the record.

That record SERIOUSLY needs to have an asterisk next to it.

Marino is the best pure passer of all time, if he had won 1 or 2 Super bowls he would rank with the top 5 to 10 of all time.
Agreed. If I remember correctly, Marino had the quickest release of any QB who played. Randall Cunningham (in his prime) was right behind him.

I read somewhere that Bernie Kosar was supposedly the most "accurate" passer in his prime. Saw a special on TV in which he was throwing passes through a tire consistantly at 60 yards.

Brett Favre, in my opinion, is just outstanding. I don't know about an "Immortal" though.

Thats what I meant about the ESPN article ! look at all the peope he's got on that list, and the ones who almost made it. It's rediculous BS ! btw, I didn't say Namath is the greatest quarterback in history, and there is a big difference beween a punk ass ESPN 'reporter' who read a sports almanac and actually watching people play the game. My picks were based on what I saw over the years.

Brett Favre rules. Just his starting streak alone proves how much of a warrior he is.

Favre did the most out of the weakest team.

Who was his best reciever? Sterling Sharpe? Antonio Freeman? They are both good recievers but man do they pale in comparison Jerry Rice and such.

HIs best running back? Anyone of them compare to Emmit Smith?

If you gave Favre the supporting cast these other HOF QB's had he definitely would've won more than 1 Super Bowl.

I think he's had some decent running backs. Ahman Green is good, and Dorsey Levens and Edgar Bennet weren't bad.

It hasn't been too bad the last couple years, but he has also had some pretty bad offensive lines too.

But the recievers have been scrubs. Freeman and Schraeder? I swear neither of them could catch. The new recievers of this year and last seem promissing, but they seem to get injured a lot more than you'd expect. It's scarey what Favre could have done with somebody as talented as Jerry Rice or Randy Moss.

Farve was amazing in the late 90s...

Being a Wisconsin resident and a Packer fan myself I can attest to his legendary status. First, Farve is like everybody's best friend... all the guy wants to do is A) Play football for a historic team B) Live a quiet simple life down in Mississippi.

Yeah, quiet like getting his roomate expelled for having a big drug party when the roomate had nothing to do with it?

I'm sick of Favre. He's on local commercials constantly in southern Mississippi.

i can't think of any other qb i'd rather have playing for my team when we were being beaten, and if that's not the way to praise a qb, i don't know what is

he's an awesome QB but i don't know really where to rank him.

being a San Francisco fan myself .. it's hard to mention ...

Montana and Young. Garcia is utterly amazing. I hope the execs can keep some talent around and give this guy a shot at a superbowl. I BELIEVE!
