In high school, we watched a documentary called Atomic Cafe, which was all about the development and testing of the atomic bomb and the resulting propaganda of the late 40s, 50s and 60s that stemmed from the threat of nuclear war. It's a great film, I highly recommend it. Anyway, there was a clip showing a Naval Vice Admiral going on TV to respond to concerns about atomic testing:

"The bomb will not start a chain-reaction in the water converting it all to gas and letting all the ships on all the oceans drop down to the bottom. It will not blow out the bottom of the sea and let all the water run down the hole. It will not destroy gravity. I am not an atomic playboy, as one of my critics labeled me, exploding these bombs to satisfy my personal whim."

I thought that "atomic playboy" sounded like a pretty bitching thing to be called and was shocked that anyone would want to deny being one. Hence the moniker.

Anybody ever heard of Star Treck?

Ya, I liked the character so there you have it.

Generic yet unique.

Since the early 90s.

When I was a kid, my neighbor friend was hilarious (to me), and would use random words he either made up or liked for whatever reason. He started calling my sister and I "lummox" a lot. My little kid brain thought it was hilarious and I always remembered it. I knew it was a real word, but never bothered to look up the correct spelling until after I created my username. I prefer it this way though :)

I had to make up a Counter-Strike handle (I would guess around 2001) with about ten seconds' notice. I've used it (by default without the c) ever since.

My name is Craig, and at the time of signing up I had just gotten a Neon R/T.
I still use this screen name today (even on new sites) It's just the way it is now.

I registered way back in 2000/01 with my regular username, Marneus.

I left for a while, moved around and lost my email address (tied to ISP), so registered again with this name.

Majunior is a DragonballZ reference, and was the name Piccolo used at the World Martial Arts tourny to stay annonymous.

Dragonball Z summary:
Oh no.. he's the greatest threat the galaxy has ever known! Goku levels up to supersayian lvl1 and kicks his ass

oh no.. BoJack just beat Vegeta as super sayian lvl1. he's the greatest threat the galaxy has ever known! Goku's kid lvls up to supersayian lvl2 and kicks his ass.

greatest threat the galaxy has ever known, lvl up. then another guy becomes the greatest threat the galaxy has ever known, lvl up. Majin Boo, Kid Boo, whatever...

thank god the series ended when goku became super sayian lvl 5. it was becoming so rediculous it was laughable.

the platypus is a quagmire of a creature that shouldn't really exist but persists despite its completely odd nature. it's made up of a lot of different things and defies typical categorization as there is only one other creature in its class. I can relate to it.

ok, i'll byte.. whos that opther creature?

i always wondered this because every time i saw your user name, that is immediately who i thought of. followed by 'childs, childs...chariots of the gods man."

Heh...had an informal The Thing CS clan back in the day. We had a MacReady, Palmer and Windows. It was funny when other players would quote lines from the movie in the side chat, although now people think its because I'm a pedo or something. Too young to know or care about the movie. lol

Now thinking about the great dialogue between the characters, I have to watch it again.

Palmer: I ain't going with Windows! I'll go with Childs.
Windows: Hey, fuck you man! Where were you when the lights went out?
Palmer: I ain't goin' with you! I don't trust you! You freaked out with that gun...
Childs: Who says I want to go with you!?!?

hahaha such a great movie.
