You're an idiot. The redneck continued punching the guy when he's already knocked out. And then went in for seconds.

This argument is fucking retarded.

If you got attacked by some random dude that was talking shit to you (NOTE THAT HE STARTED IT) And, ASSUMING you knew how to defend yourself AND were actually gaining the upper hand...could you honestly say you would know exactly when to stop unless others pulled you off or snapped you out of it?

Adrenaline + Anger + Fear = you keep on punching. The guy was just trying to pound your teeth in unprovoked...of course you'd be pissed and of course you'd keep on hitting. You aren't actually going "I hit this guy X amount of times, I better stop", it's more like "Oh shit, this guy isn't fighting back anymore...I better stop".

Sitting on the guy's back and punching him in the back of the head repeatedly can hardly be called self defense.

Absolutely it was self defense. Poor redneck got intercepted from behind and viciously assaulted. He had no idea if thug had friends around the corner or what.

It's not like he just continued to beat him over and over. He was obviously in a blind rage due to the adrenaline rush of being blindside attacked, and when a passerby "woke him up" he jumped off the thug.

Notice he didn't kick him, and redneck buddy stayed out of it. You think if thug had thug friends around they would've done the same...? Ha!

It was absolutely a "Fair" situation. Like I said earlier, I truly believe redneck could've and should've gone further.

Thug could still do yoga, he certainly could've pulled a gun.

Again, sitting on his back, continually hit the back of the head is one extreme case of self-defense. Knowing american laws are somewhat... odd, in regards to what can be called self-defense. It's not like he got jumped from out of nowhere.

We're primarily hearing from the thug supporter crowd. They think people know exactly which single punch is the point where their attacker is incapacitated. And that's just stupid.

If you're attacked you need to put your attacker down.

A vicious thug has NO respect for your life and will shoot you in a heartbeat. You need to make absolutely sure that they're physically unable to reach into their waistband.

That means you don't stop when they're knocked a little loopy..

Again... They started the confrontation, so you need to be sure to go all the way to make sure it's stopped or they will continue.

If it's a drunk fight at a party, or bar, or a middle school playground with plenty of "friends" supervising then absolutely correct, the "Guy Code" is a factor.

When you are out in public there is no "Guy Code". If some random person viciously attacks you then you need to defend yourself to the FULLEST extent possible. That means your attacker should not be moving, period. Not able to reach into a wasteband for a gun, not able to attack you while you're walking away. Your attacker must be completely stopped.

A random vicious thug doesn't play by these "Guy Codes" and you shouldn't either. Go watch a couple of those world star hip hop videos where a group of thugs attack people and stomp their groin into mush, or put their teeth on a curb and kick the back of their head.

Thug culture has changed the way you defend yourself. Do not stop until they are not capable of moving - period.

Honestly, I'm pretty flexible on the "he should have stopped sooner" point. It's been a while since I was in a fight, but the fact is, when you get attacked and go into "rage mode," you can't be expected to think as quickly, clearly, and logically as someone who's armchair quarterbacking a youtube video a couple days later.

When you get attacked, you need to end the threat and make sure it stays ended.

He absolutely did get jumped out of nowhere. The situation was deescalated, redneck was on his way inside to get beef jerky, thug made one more jeer at the camera before quickly heading to intercept him from behind.

100% classic self defense here. Even if (it didn't) redneck started the altercation, it was done. Resolved. Redneck walked away. And thug just had to get his beating in.

Someone on their stomach who is just a little dazed could easily pull out a gun and shoot redneck as he walks away. So what's he supposed to do..? Risk his life against the fact that the trash thug might pull out a gun and shoot him? No, he should make 100% sure that his vicious attacker is physically unable to further assault him. That means unconcious and fully incapacitated. I don't care if the thug is up down or whatever, if he's still moving he is still a threat that should be put down.

This wasn't a middle school playground fight where say ok ok he's dazed I won and run back to class.

The skinny guy should have taken off his shirt. It was too baggy and allowed the guy to reverse position. Kinda surprised that the skinny guy actually threw a punch. That much talking usually doesnt result in an actual fight. Whats funny is when he was briefly on top he was still talking trash, then got reversed and had the nerve to say "get off me!".

Anyways, while the heavier guy threw a couple extra punches, its a street fight. It could have been worse. I've seen videos where the winner literally pisses on the loser, and then the people watching the fight piss on the loser. And this was totally avoidable. The one thing the loser shouldnt do is sue. He got beat straight up, just move on. What kinda sucks though is these videos showing up on the internet. I got jumped outside of a bar many moons ago, and got beat up pretty bad. Having the world laugh at you afterwards would definitely suck.

These low life thugs are the hyenas of our society. They're opportunists who couldn't care less about fairness, right, or wrong, unless it helps them.

Except in your case you were a victim. This guy was a victim only of his own stupidity, ego, and bravado.

Well, I wouldnt go that far. The guys had beef, they fought 1v1, and one guy lost bad. He didnt try to use a tire iron and bushwhack the guy. I would need to see the previous 5 min to see how it all started before I start labeling him a thug. But thats the problem with most of these videos...no context. At the beginning the skinny guy kept saying he was getting jumped, and he was alone against those two guys. Who knows how it started. I just look at it as a fight. No need to make it more than that.

The internet ridicule on these videos is crazy. Sure its funny, but in a way that joy should be confined to the people at the gas station. Getting beat up is one thing, but becoming a meme over it sorta takes the honor out of the fight. If that makes sense. It probably seems contradictory to approve of the fight and not the aftermath, but in my eyes it was a fair fight, no need to keep piling on.

Anyways, to keep things light...size doesnt always matter...

I'm not sorry for the guy at all...maybe it went a little too far but he started it... are you a relative of the guy or something...maybe his mum?

I don't think size was that much of a factor. Street fights are VERY different from MMA or boxing where weight classes are a big deal and it's a long drawn-out fight.

Street fights are much more about technical moves and who can land the first few punches. It's incredibly rare for any street fight to last even a minute.. And if a smaller guy lands 2-3 good punches he's golden. This is why anyone with any experience in real world defense training and fights knows you need to put the other guy down absolutely ASAP, not stand around sparring like the thug morons tend to do.

The biggest mistake thug made was mess around with a good ole boy redneck. Most of these vicious street fighting thugs fight for "show".. They're basically shadow boxing in they hood.

But these rednecks don't mess around. They don't do a little hippity hop boxing stance while pawing at you.. They'll put you down quick, as thug found out.

Not sorry for him at all. I can respect two people who want to fight each other actually fighting. I just think the internet ridicule after the fight is a bit much.

I don't think size was that much of a factor.

I think his baggy shirt had more to do with it than size, but looking at the skinny guys first punch he was either going to lose anyway, or dance around until someone broke it up.

Sometimes you just mess with the wrong guy...

Overall even that is tame.

Plenty of videos on that world star hip hop site of a group of thugs literally stomping some ivory kid's crotch over and over and over.... 20-30 times by the time the thugs are done with their assault. Plenty of heads held on a curb and repeatedly stomped. They pretty much always rob the person, sometimes literally rob them of their clothes and leave them for dead.

And that is just what you get on videos. These type of assaults aren't even rare in major cities.

That is why when one of these thugs attack you, you put them down with absolutely NO chance of getting up.

I still contend that redneck could've kept going. If you're attacked, you don't stop until they have 0 potential to harm you.

One hurts. The other doesn't.

Dirt clogs. We used to have dirt clog fights. They cut roads through the woods behind us for a subdivision, but took years before they started building houses.

They did bring in a bunch of dump truck loads of fill dirt, though. Tall weeds grew up in the mounds of dumped dirt. We had trails through them, and we'd throw the clumps (clogs) of dirt at each other.

They'd hit, sting but basically disintegrate. Good times.

That place was a wonderland for playing, riding motorcycles and BMX bikes.

We might be missing some context, but what we do know is this: the rednecks tried to walk away numerous times, and the thug just couldn't let whatever it was go. He threw the first punch for no good reason at all and got his ass handed to him. He deserves all the ridicule the internet has to offer.

Guys like this should be shunned by society. I think it's healthy to have videos like this that clearly outline what you DO NOT DO... And that is attack a very potentially armed and skilled innocent american.

I do feel like the days of modern progressive "cowering" to these thugs is over. People are sick of people just like the thug in this video, and aren't putting up with it any more.

Thug is so incredibly lucky that neither redneck or redneck buddy were armed. Either of them could have legally trayvon'd him on the spot.

I dunno...the guy who won the fight can talk all the crap he wants. And he didnt even talk trash after the fight, his buddy did. Most of these clever internet folk probably have never fought anyone in their life. Granted, some of those gifs are funny. Just seems strange that this will now follow a person the rest of their lives. This isnt specific to this video, but these videos in general. Some guy losing a fight at a gas station shouldnt be that big of a deal.

I think on the original page there was a video of some girl named Sharkesia beating up another girl. It was viewed like 12 million times. It all just seems a bit much. Probably just showing my age.

Clods.. They are dirt Clods, not clogs.

Clogs are wooden shoes that Swedish people dance in.

Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree, but it's not like this video is going to keep Mr. Backwardshat from getting his dream engineering job. He just might have to settle for one of the lesser known gangs.

Most people over the age of 8 don't get in fights. By that time, most people are mature enough to stay away from people who solve problems by fist fights. Sure, there may be the occasional bar fight that you can't forsee or when you jump in to break up something one of your inebriated friends started, but for the most part, no, people don't fight to solve problems.

Clogs are shoes.

Fighting is the worlds oldest problem solver. Many times its unavoidable, because one person wont let it go, like in this video. If people are mature enough to stay out of fights, then they should probably be mature enough to not create gifs humiliating someone after the fact. I'm sure this is a get off my lawn moment, but when people get their asses kicked, that should be good enough. Like in the old days...the 90s an early 00s. hehe
