Ok, even the Surbaru mechanics I know can't explain why on earth Subby calls it a H4. Its a fvcking flat 4 or 6 motherfvckers:|:|

<-- Will hopefully be buying a Subaru this year.

How does the Accord handle?
My parents had a 2001 Accord and it handled great, is the current gen a good handler too or is it worse?

I'm probably going to be getting a midsize car this summer, and the Accord is on my list of choices.

From the times I've been in OS' car its about the same as any previous gen Accord, stock for stock.

I'm not a car guy, but my guess is the H stands for horizontal.

V6's are usually not that great. If you want a fast car, get a V8. If you want an economical car, get a 4-banger. The only 6's I REALLY like are BMW's I-6's. Other than that, V6's do nothing that properly built 4's or 8's can't.

Eh, stick with flat;)

If you go by that, what about HO. Afterall, the technical term is horizontally opposed;)

HO has traditionally stood for "High Output", though.

The V4 is cheaper and gets better gas mileage...basically if having a "V6" label on the back of your Accord is worth the extra $3000+, go for it.

You've driven my car before right?

Yeah compared to 5th or 6th gens, it drives about the same, but it's no where near as nimble as my old 3rd gen or a 4th gen.

both engines have VTEC. people buy the 4 banger because it is cheaper, uses less gas, and has plenty of power for the car. you won't win any races but it can more than keep up with traffic. the V6 is a lot more fun, of course. ;)

They both have pussy versions of VTEC, so it's nothing special.

Just purchased a new 2005 Accord Coupe V-6, 6 spd MT. It is one nice car. I have owned Accords since the first model came out in 76. Except for first one, this is my first coupe. All of the previous have been 4 cyl, 5 spd MT.

The V-6 is a true pleasure to drive, very quite, smooth and plenty of acceleration. The car also handles very nicely, the suspension is a little stiffer than the sedan, but it handles a little bit better through the corners. I also looked hard at the Acura TSX, as it also is a very nice car with a 4 cyl & 6 spd. Ended up with the Accord, as it appears to be a better value, but I liked the slightly smaller TSX.

One thing I noticed is the V6, 6 spd is a "LEV" and not either a "VLEV" or a "ULEV". So it is not as clean as some of the other Hondas.

Also the very clean Accord hybrid has even more power than just a V6, but is only available with AT.
