Probably around 150 in my old 70 Chevelle and then I started to realize that my tires weren't even close to being rated for that speed and that a blowout woulda killed me.

That was a long time ago but I still remember passing one guy doing the speed limit of 55 so fast that it had to have scared the hell out of him! I was worried he was gonna change lanes and at that speed I would not have had a lot of time to figure out how not to hit him.

Now that I am older I try not to do such stupid things which is probably why I will live to be really old some day, lol.

Driving:
My car - 105 (maxed, downhill a bit) given speedo inaccuracy, that's probably only about 90 :( lol 1.2 FTW!!!)
Work cars - 2.4 Honda Accord - 125 2.0 Toyota Avensis estate - 115 (wasn't really going for speed, just found myself there on the motorway)

Passenger:
about 180ish in one of these. Worked there as a Marshall for a few months, good times. My first driven power oversteer experience was in a 2.2Tdi Vauxhall Frontera (Yeah, they're RWD! :D)

I'd stand a chance of winning the how fast have you accelerated in a car thread. :D

155 mph in a M5, could've done more if it wasn't electronically limited.

I was able to test comfortably on a mile strip brand new round which is really quiet, and the police never patrol it. You could almost say it is the perfect test road. It was a dual carriageway with a speed limit of 70Mph.

In the UK you get an 'instant ban', WTF does that mean? Have you seen the show top gear? The episode where the guy sees whether or not it's faster to drive a sports car from england to italy? or was it france, not quite sure or to take a plane there. He was doing like 200mph on the highway and ****** and got a speeding ticket, nonetheless he continued the journey....

I get my 330CI + Sports pack soon hopefully (been waiting for ages, company car). I thought the cars were limited at 155Mph, is there a difference between the Sports pack version and none sports pack version other than aesthetics? (or should i say M-tech version)

Not that i intend to drive it any faster than that, lol.

IIRC the M cars are limited to 155.

For me 115MPH (speed limited) in my '93 Dodge Dakota V8, as a driver. As a passenger, 135MPH I believe in my friend's '92 Trans Am convertible, top up I believe at the time.

Coming home on July 5th, my friend hit 95 on the Jersey Trnpk in my 1997 Ford Taurus. The fastest I've gone while driving it was probably 85.

160km/h in a 2005 Subaru Outback (hired) equal to probably around 100mph? I was trying to pass someone and to be quick in fear of hitting oncoming traffic :p Normally won't put my own car this hard :D

The last night that I had my SE-R Spec V....I was coming home from DC and hit the last stretch of highway near my parents house (this was back in May)...totally clear (in the boondocks) so I knew it was alright. Brought it up to 110 stayed there for about 15 seconds and backed off immediately. IT was a fun car to fling around, but at those speeds? It gets scarey!

I've yet to take my new ride much past 90....we'll see about that soon though!

I was pulled over for 108 in a 55. Verbal warning.

I know I've exceeded that several times in several vehicles, but I don't know the exact numbers.

Heh yeah took my Spec V to 110. Scary at those speeds. I just like slinging it around twisties anyway.
