What's the fastest you have driven your car, or a car?

I drove a mates 2 Litre turbo today and hit 145Mph before running out of road, nothing too exciting but the car did it with ease.

So what is your max speed?

120 in a Lexus LS400, I was a bit scared since it appears that it isn't that easy to control the car at higher speeds, probably due to the ****** roads in the bay area.

What is the speed limit in America? Over here it is 70Mph. If caught going over 100Mph results in an instant ban.

I was able to test comfortably on a mile strip brand new road which is really quiet, and the police never patrol it. You could almost say it is the perfect test road. It was a dual carriageway with a speed limit of 70Mph.

In the UK you get an 'instant ban', WTF does that mean? Have you seen the show top gear? The episode where the guy sees whether or not it's faster to drive a sports car from england to italy? or was it france, not quite sure or to take a plane there. He was doing like 200mph on the highway and ****** and got a speeding ticket, nonetheless he continued the journey....

I've hit 105 on my little '94 Nissan Sentra. I would never trust it at that speed though.

Here in the Milwaukee area the speed limits are 55 in the city, 65 when you leave the metro area. Anything over 90 in Wisconsin gets your license revoked on the spot.

not really on purpose I was driving on a long, straight stretch of route 80. I was the only car on the road and not really paying attention. all of a sudden, I looked down and was, like, "wtf. when did I hit 95!" and proceeded to brake. heh. I don't really like driving over 80 mph.

I get my 330CI + Sports pack soon hopefully (been waiting for ages, company car). I thought the cars were limited at 155Mph, is there a difference between the Sports pack version and none sports pack version other than aesthetics? (or should i say M-tech version)

My current car, I'm pretty sure I did 85, but I didn't exactly see it. I know I passed 80, but I didn't look down until I had started to slow.

Highest ever, probably 100.

Only been pulled over once, verbal warning and let go. I've never had a ticket.

so you're saying you know UK's driving laws better than someone from the UK?

and AFAIK, the only time clarkson went above 200 was in germany's autobahn, which is the only public road in the world where you can go as fast as you want as long as the traffic/weather allows.
