120+ in an '85 Maxima
I made the trip from Huntsville, AL to Auburn, AL via interstate (I-65 to I-85) with an average MPH of 101 MPH (onboard computer). Normally a three hour trip, made it in less than two. This also included several miles in Montgomery, AL where I was following a Highway Patrol car. I haven't driven that fast since.

I imagine someone who managed to get a Z28 above 200mph knows to look @ the tach & figure out the gear ratio.
Approximately 145 in my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX. I've had it up to this speed 2-3 times. With the stock tires however, the ride isn't superb above 130. The WRX is mainly limited by aerodynamics at this speed. The engine has more room to go (the tach is only at about 5500 rpm and the car doesn't redline until 7000. After some HP modifications, this car could probably reach 165 or so.

Back in 92, I did 100 in a stock 91 Honda Civic DX Hatchback on I-4 coming back to USF from a trip to UCF. It was at 3:30pm on a weekday, so there was a little bit of traffic. The only reason was that I was following a friend with a radar detector who was doing 100 as well.
The funniest part was that, at one point, he and I both had to go into the right lane so that two pickups, who must've been going at least 10 above us, could pass.

cop was on the side of the road, i saw him and slowed to a stop behind him..
he says uh you got a V8 in there, No Sir, i showed him, he says,well i Radared you at 96 mph,then i reset it,and you were down to 78 mph, so i will give you a break,and give you the ticket, 78 in a 55.!
Another time i had a 1968 GTX 440 hp,4 speed,3:23 sure-grip {Posi} with a 150 mph speedo,
was going to a BOC,Rainbow concert with 6 other kids in the car, {i was 19/20}
one kid says uh hey man u see how fast your going??
almost 140! on the Interstate,at 7 PM..
I currently have a '67 Camaro,427 4 speed,3:31 posi, with a 160 mph speedo,{they were a dealer installed option,if you had a nice dealer,[they were stock on some v8 firebirds,'67/68 LOL]}
I plead the 5th LOL, Glad i have the Front and Rear spoilers,and disc brakes...
the Camaro withOut the spoilers is scary at about 110,
Gotta have Good tires/brakes, shocks;and sub-frame connectors... they help stiffen em up

And where did you find a stretch of clean pavement to achieve this speed?
250+ on a bike? depends what's he put into it. i wouldn't doubt it for a second. as for getting a strech long enough? lol. you need to get out more.

Turbocharged 1100XX, yes it's a competition bike (but in sweden you can get it licensed for the road), and yes it was on a track...
*sigh* well, sure... you're probably right all of you...
