120mph ... Civic needs one giant downhill on I-5 north at Grapevine to go that quick, otherwise, its about 112mph.

I was in my dads car at about 120 (I'm from the UK). Why are the US speed limits to low? Our freeway equivelants have a speed limit of 70mph, but everyone ignores that. How come you guys get 55?
