Right.

Yes. Right. Surviving a get-off at that speed is entirely possible provided you're on a track....which he was if I read his post correctly. Basically, you slide a loooooooooong way and hope you don't hit anything very solid.

Anyway: I've seen an indicated 155 or so on my Triumph at Road Atlanta (probably more like a bit over 140 thanks to the usual speedo "optimism") and have driven a friend's 911 at around 140ish for short bursts (in the middle of Nowhere, Montana).

I've also topped 60mph on my road bike flying down some roads in CO. Feels like 100mph when you're on 23mm tires wearing nothing but spandex and a helmet. :Q

I see you've never been in a Ford Festiva. My car only has 52 HP. :)

I can say from experience that 80mph in a Ford Festiva takes balls....and a nice hilll with a slight tailwind

<- old festiva driver

HEY NOW!!!! Don't knock my 94' Festiva...yeah it's a sh!tty car, but it's fun to drive as a delivery vehicle at 80mph UPHILL

Please tell me that's kph. Even still how do you keep the wind from blowing you off? Sure you've got a windshield but the low air pressure above you has to lift you right off your seat.

Nope, that is mph, and you have to keep your chin to the tank, it's a crazy ride... imagine going 180 and the turbo slams your front wheel in the air... my kind of ride... :D

I recently ordered a turbocharged testaretta, it will be fun to see how much power that bike has got in comparison... :D

not gonna say bike speeds ;)

again, not proud of the fact that i've broken the speed limit, but the speed was confirmed with my GPS unit, which in fact, has proven my speedo to be correct.

~100mph in the boat, it had a lot left, but I like my license... and besides, it's a brick-like front end anyhow.

I think it was around 120. I wasn't paying much attention to the speedo. I was on the phone with my GF when her apartment caught fire. So I was in a hurry to get there. The fire department still beat me, but only because they had 1/4 the distance to go that I did.

110 MPH on 680 in Pleasanton, CA at 11PMish on a weeknight. 91 Honda Accord Wagon, flat slope. Drove the same car to 115 briefly on a downhill stretch of 80 coming out of the mountains. Rock solid at those speeds, I wish it had more power. ;)

Well first of all, normal "freeway" speed limits are 65, not 55. Interstate limits are generally 70 MPH, and some states have higher than that. Secondly, we ignore them too. ;) Fast lanes generally travel at least 80 MPH, and you can always find someone going at least 90 to tag along with.

Hmmm...great minds think alike, eh?

My fastest was about that high - also in my Z26 Beretta. With my suspension mods the car was completely stable. I love my zed :)

Yeah, during the small windows of oportunity when 680 isn't bumper to bumper.

~150mph in my '92 Stang..

The road racing suspension really smoothes out at higher speeds.
