What about the $85,000/$110,000 cut off? Don't most ATOT'ers make much more than that?

Was going to post the same thing... I won't qualify.

Damm it. So if me and my wife make *>$110,000 we get nothing. And i work for the man... wait I am the man... well soemthing like that. And I don;t get anything. Oh wait I, like most americans, get stuck with Bushs/Republicans 9+trillion debt. So we all get something.

Last I checked, Democrats have been in charge of the purse strings for the last year and haven't done a thing to cut back spending. In fact, they're spending as much if not more.

This is a problem with both sides of the aisle.

Bush's plan was to eliminate the portion of income tax paid in the 10% bracket while the Democrats wanted to make sure everyone (including those that don't actually pay anything) receives the money. From what I understand after reading it at CNN, everyone that basically files taxes and doesn't currently owe the IRS will receive the money. YMMV because who knows what the final solution will be.

Also, CNN stated that the fast rollout means start shipping checks around June 1.

Remodel the bathroom.

Edit: We're already remodeling, it's just $1600 less that I'd have to spend out of pocket. 🙂

I hope you are right. From this article it looks like no one knows for sure

Democratic congressional leaders agree that tax relief should be in the package, but are working on a broader measure. Lawmakers are discussing a $500 rebate for individuals, said aides to lawmakers involved in the talks, with details for couples and people with children still being negotiated. The rebates would likely be limited to individuals with incomes of $85,000 or less and couples with incomes of $110,000 or less, the aides said, speaking on condition of anonymity because no final decisions had been made.

I've been thinking of buying a heavy bag stand and speedbag for our little workout room we started upstairs, so I'd probably buy that.

turn it around and invest it into a split of total stock market and total international market and wait for everyone else to spend thier refund and the inevitable stock market rebound.

put it under my mattress. then cuss out the government when it comes time to fill out my taxes and have to claim it as income.

I'd put it in savings, knowing that I'll eventually have to pay it back in the form of future tax hikes to pay off our huge deficit.

I'm not sure whether I would get it (worked over the summer, but was exempt from income tax due to amount earned), but I dunno what I'd do with it. I might buy a new mobo+memory+processor, but it's not an essential upgrade. Maybe a new TV for this house - the current one makes an obnoxious whining noise that my dad can't seem to hear.
