Do you live under a rock?

Yes.

But now that I've installed Firefox I think I may be getting faster internet and less popups from the loads of spyware I have on my computer.

The first time I go to a website that doesn't work properly.

Oh wait, that already happened, and I switched back.

IE is my preferred browser.

* Never got spyware.
* Never got adware.
* Never got popups.
* Firefox cannot beat IE's launch speed.
* IE loads webpages faster for me.
* IE renders code better for me.

If firefox 101 is crashing its because your extensions are conflicting or one or more is corrupted. Its doubtful its a problem with the browser.

there is another thread already posted in OT with 4 or 5 people having hte same problem

There were a few big bugs in 1.0.1 which is why they're planning on releasing 1.0.2 in the next few days.

1) You are either really lucky or your spyware removal program is really crap
2) Same as 1
3) There is an option in sp2, don't thank IE for that one
4) That is because firefox is not preloaded during windows startup. IE is. That is why IE is also so much more dangerous to use (security anyone?)
5) which pages? have you timed this?
6) don't blame firefox, blame lazy programmers who can't code well. this has NOTHING to do with firefox.

No love for Opera?

I am using FireFox on my Gentoo installation, and Opera in Windows. The only way I would switch back to IE is if M$ made it the only option. And I think we saw what happened when they tried to go that route... Even then I would probably just do web browsing on the Linux box, and only use windows for gaming.

I used nothing but IE for years on end until recently when my browser was hijacked. Firefox + a few nice extensions I'm using have made it a real pleasure.

Even if Firefox was becoming as heavily exploited as IE I'd hate to give up some of the functions of Firefox, tabbed browsing being a big one but not the only one.
