First album? Dunno. Probably around 1960 or so. Who knows what a kid bought back then.

I do remember several Beach Boys albums....their first I definitely remember buying.

I'm just still amused/bemused by the dichotomy of blowing up little brown folks on the other side of the planet while being sentenced to hell for listening to "shudder" heavy metal. It was simply the place and time and, no one who didn't experience it could ever imagine the strangeness of the time.

No problem.....and you're right. If you weren't there, trying to explain it is useless. And the dichotomy, it exists to today. We've got good people blowing up this decade's version of our little brown people, albeit with a bit better back story attached (at least in Afghanistan), yet some still want to send some of them to hell for listening to heavy metal. Such is life.

Be forewarned about The Fugs though, in the song I mentioned, almost none of the lyrics would be considered socially acceptable, so suggest if you ever listen to it, don't do it around anyone who'd be offended by very graphic, vulgar language.
