That was almost 40 years ago, I'll be damned if I can remember what it was, too many blunts smoked.

First tape I got as a gift, UB40 Red Red Wine. First tape I purchased (as a gift) Guns n Roses Use Your Illusion II. First CD I bought for myself, Iron Butterfly In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.

Led Zeppelin III:

It had a wheel on the side that made little pictures on the cover change. It's sad that this kind of art is now dead due to digital music and CD's.

The Police - Synchronicity. Sting used some big words in the lyrics I had to look it up in the dictionary back then.

Think it was Jesus Christ Superstar, double album UK cast with Ian Gillan in the main role, not the movie soundtrack that came later.
This album is amazing. From the beginning we all know how things turn out yet the album is a musical pressure cooker.

Some classical music compilation, think it was Hayden.

My first "pop" purchase was the Lion King soundtrack. My first "band" purchase was S Club 7 (eff off). First "real band" was U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind. Last one was Lady Gaga.

AC/DC - Back in Black. On vinyl.

AC/DC was the first 4 or 5 albums I purchased. My mom and dad told me I couldn't get anymore until I bought something else. They were afraid for my soul or something....heh.

Cannot remember for sure.
One of these:
  • Blind Melon - Blind Melon
  • Roxette - Look Sharp!
  • Def Leppard - Adrenalize

On tape.

The Beatles first album Please Please Me. Sometime around 1964 I think.
I'm pretty sure that was my first also.

I think I got my Mom to purchase some 45RPMs for me before that but i'm pretty sure I purchased Please Please Me with my own cash.

BUT that was awhile back. 🙂

would have been cassette. actually i think it was one of those mix albums, like they have one song from a different band of the same genre. like heavy metal thunder or something stupid like that.
