What is the worst genre of music?

Country "music" SUCKS, period. It's a fusion of fingernails on a chalkboard, a wailing baby and nasally twang. I don't like Christian music or Gospel either but Country is the equivelant of modern day torture by the Spanish Inquisition.
 
i dont think atom and his package is neo-dada. but i do like deerhoof.
i have to say that all genres will have at least one artist that i could find to enjoy.
but, by far, i think that pop is the worst genre. people not writing their own music, not playing their own instruments and singing about nothing...sure, its easy to listen to, but its rarely catchy, always vacuous and constantly playing.
as atom and his package always says to people who hate his music "well, im sorry you feel that way but at least you will have an easy time avoiding me"

Agreed. 'pop' is a quantifier, not a genre.
 
I must agree that just ALL music these days is going down the drain.

Example #1 - WTH is wrong with Ashlee Simpson
Example #2 - When a rap song consists of 2 words, YEA and UH-HUH
Example #3 - Thumping noises with high pitched sounds, with phrases from movies

Edit - Uh Huh doesn't even constitute as a word... stupid modern "musicians/artists"

there is nothing wrong with rap, a whole lot of people seem to enjoy it.

also like i said before there isnt any worse genre of music

maybe if the question was "who is the worst singer"? then this thread would make more sense

its a matter of opinion

which genre has the most number of poor/talentless singlers, rap hence you can assume the worst genre is rap
 
At least with country you get artists that play instruments and/or actually sing, rap is closer to plain ol noise, with an emphasis on image. Both irritate me, but I feel rap is lower down the quality meter.
