What is the worst genre of music?

rap

all those voting country should realize, it's the most profitable component of the music industry last I checked. I don't care for it that much personally, but it isn't the worst, it doesn't promote getting high, or killing people (or cops), or commiting rape, or etc....etc.....etc.....there just isn't anywhere for it to go now that everythings been done at least twice over.

Country blows. It's just bad music, plain and simple. People who like country wouldn't know real music if it came and smacked them in the face. I don't care for rap either.

Since when does the common person care how much money the RIAA makes?

I'm sorry but this is like saying that video games promote violence.

I understand where you are coming from. Not all rap/hiphop is bad. However, given that we are choosing genres here...and that the rap genre consists of roughly 90% recycled 'I fvck hoes and shoot ganstas with my gat and have a big medallion and car!" rap I am forced as well to vote with them.

Rap is therefore my vote. Even though I listen to and enjoy a handful of select pieces every once and awhile.

Country gets a noteworthy mention.

I also hate almost all ska.

But there really isn't any genre of music that there aren't at least a few pieces that I like. Even country, although I cannot think of any examples right now for that one.

Country Music of the last 30 or so years sucks IMO. Give me some Marty Robbins and old Merle Haggard any day.

Trance is too monotonous for me, Rap all sounds the same with a few exceptions and Pop music is just the Record Companies fooling todays youth into forking over their parents hard earned cash.

I like Rock, the harder the better!
 
Every genre has crap in it but being a musician, I can find something good about any form of music....however..modern Indian Pop music is on my 'WTF is this, a joke?!' list.

Rap shouldn't qualify as "music" - only those in the rap genre call it music. 😛 🙂
 
And, country music is so close to pop anymore... the line is too blurry between the two.
Examples: Shania Twain. Is she country? Or is she pop? She topped the pop charts a few times...
