I again request that Flyermax2k3 specify exactly what constitutes a "Sports Car", since he must be the editor-in-chief of all sorts of car magazines.

No, the car was another 2k ;) What can I say? I bought a lemon! There's not a mechanical part on that car that hasn't been replaced though, I'll tell ya that right now! All my car needs is a new throttle body and new lifters and she'll be golden :D
Oh, and calling someone a ricer is hardly flaming, especially when they're a ricer!

I meant that [ NutBucket (Car + Mods + Repairs) < $7000 < Flyermax2k3 (Repairs) ] ;)

And what exactly makes NutBucket a ricer? Gee, would it be the huge decals covering every surf- no ... the giant wi- ... fartc- ... Hmm, the 2.2L H-series under the hood?
rolleye.gif

- M4H

No, but the fact that he drives a frickin 4 door Honda and decided to mod it does :p
Of course, I don't expect you to agree with me since you're a ricer too ;)

Riiight. You're one to talk... and boy do you talk a lot of smack.

LOL! Please elaborate, oh king of the ricers! Enlighten me! Explain to me how I am a hypocrite, as your statements imply. Show me one post on these forums or any others that I have made which even implies that I have modded my car. You can't, because no such post exists.
The difference between my car and what's his nuts' car is that mine is an actual sports car whereas his is an econobox. Turbo + AWD is far more of a sports car than N/A FWD will EVER be. I rest my case.

Honda Ricer - spends thousands putting performance engine in his econobox and drives for years.
DSM Ricer - spends thousands keeping his performance engine running until he gives it up and buys something better.

- M4H

LOL, that's right M4H, I'm a ricer
rolleye.gif
The 7 grand I spent on my car has gone into everything from a new battery to new axles. Hardly "keeping my performance engine running until I give up and blah blah blah". Facts are facts. I drive a sports car, you drive a ricemobile ;) Stop being jealous. I don't care if your car is more reliable than mine - I bought a lemon! You still drive a Honda, and I have the pleasure of AWD and a turbo. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
I'm not here to stick up for DSMs or even my car. My car was a fvcking piece when I bought it! I'm more than happy to spend 7 grand fixing up a car that brings a smile to my face every time I step on the loud pedal. Knock me and my car all you want, but DSMs walk all over Hondas every damn day of the week in virtually every city in the U.S. and it's a beautiful sight :) I dunno how they do things in Canada, but I know you've got DSMs up there too ;) Perhaps you've just had your ass handed to you by one to many DSMs? I dunno...

EDIT: I should add that a friend of mine was hired to convert a Mirage into a Lancer. They aren't all that different. Most of it bolts right together (ignoring the conversion to RHD).

Like I said, they're built on the same platform so of course they're going to be similar in some respects... You don't see how they're all that different? Dude, one's a freaking rally car and the other's a damn grocery getter! They don't get much different than that! It's not just suspension components and the like, the car is designed from the ground up to kick serious ass! I suggest you go read up on how truly different they are...

Oh, so you're not a ricer - you just suck at buying used cars. ;)

I spent US$1.5K on my Civic. With the leftovers just from your repairs, I could easily buy my own fully functional DSM, build it up, and hand you your ass. ;)

I can tell you one thing for sure: FWD + N/A 4 banger do NOT a sports car make.

Like I said, I bought a lemon. What more do you want? If I could do it all over again I would have bought a different DSM, but I still would have bought a DSM :) You have to admit they're great cars (when they're running) LOL

So what do you call an Integra Type-R? I've yet to see one person/review not praise it as a sports car.

Eh, a wannabe sports car? They're called "Hype Rs" for a reason you know ;)

Yep! The same guys who stomp new mudholes in wannabe sports car drivers every day :)

I still don't recall refering to my car as a sports car......unless I'm completely mistaken.

You have fun "stomping new mudholes" in the ITR when they both run the same high 14's stock.

Why don't you tell us your HP? Don't forget to factor in stickers and fartcan.

- M4H

Well, seeing as how the Hype R is a special limited edition hand-built vehicle and the DSM is a mass-produced sports car (best selling import sports car in America at the time), which is more impressive? Oh, and once you start throwing curves into the equation, the DSM will PWN that FWD POS once again ;) You remember curves, don't you? You know, they're those things that are on virtually EVERY ROAD IN THE WORLD! ;)

All DSMs (with the exception of the base model) are powered by the 4G63T 2.0L turbocharged engine, and had either FWD or AWD drivetrains (depending on model). You know them as the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon.

Answer your question?

So...a great majority of the DSM cars were FWD-only. How does that make *them* economical sports cars but yet something like an Integra is not?

ROFLES! Since when do ricers drive in the twisties? Ricers drive FWD POSs, and are afraid of the twisties! No, real men drive in the twisties, ricers drive in straight lines and pray to G-d there aren't any turns ahead ;)
Oh, way to ignore my comparison as well ;) Whatsamatta? No response to that? Kinda hard to be impressed by a hand-built vehicle when it's no better than (and, in fact, gets PWNed by) a mass-produced vehicle, eh?

I'm not talking about those FWD POSes ;) It is my contention that the only *real* DSMs are all turbocharged and all AWD :D
Of course, I'd still take a FWD turbo'd DSM over a Honda any day of the week :) At least FWD DSMs have a little thing called TORQUE!

And that's impressive? Honda's F20C produces 240hp (S2000) and its K20 200hp (RSX).

Huh? Wanting a 2007 M2 is my business, and I'm just relaying BMW's future plans to whoever reads this dude, not starting a childish squabble for cyber-specification, king-of-the-jungle-gym superiority. That job's apparently been taken several times already.
