$1500 plane ticket to Hawaii, the friend I was going to stay with moved back so our mutual friend no longer wanted to go with me. Her ticket was non transferable so I coudln't get a friend to go with me so they wound up not getting used.

call the airline i think they have to give u 1500 in credit to another flight

also if it has be less then a few months call your credit card company and u can also dispute the charge if they dont give u a refund for the tickets

Sorry no bikini pics. Too chilly tonight. Matter of fact it's cold enough to light a fire but we're all out of wood.

This QX6700 o/c to 3.6+ with 1.5V would make a nice heater. :Q

I bought a body kit that has been sitting in the garage for some time now.

For what car? I had a fiberglass sports car body for a Volks frame, traded it for a jeep needing engine work.

Mitsubishi Lancer. It's special because the rear bumper is JDM, which may not sound that special... except I don't think hardly anyone in the US has it.

Just speculating but I believe the "JDM" bumper that you have is off of an Evo, so it's not rare or anything...

I was going to post mine, but it seems that this thread turned into a contest, so I won't.
I did, however, sell this thing for a tiny profit, so maybe it doesn't even count anyway!
There was another huge purchase several years ago, bought a house expecting to make a decent profit, ended up selling it almost exactly one year later for exactly what I gave for it. I was out 1 years interest!

Although this isn't something I bought, when I worked for the Navasl Research Lab we routinely bought expensive stuff near the end of the fiscal year so that we ensured that our entire budget for the year was used up (essentially you use it or you lose it the next year). My first year there my office bought a $250k clamshell furnace (for annealing substrates). Unfortunately the researcher who ordered the furnace (not me) failed to realize that the electrical system in our building was insufficient to power the thing. As a result, that furnace sat in our storeroom for almost 5 years before it was finally junked.

I bought a Palm Pilot and only used it for a week.

I did eventually sell it though.

At least you sold it. Mine ended it's run somewhere in the trash bin. The install disc, however, still resides in my desk...for whatever reason.

Probably my first motorcycle, a 1992 Suzuki Katana 750. I bought it because I thought it was a good deal. It's not a deal if you don't fit on it and therefore never ride it!

I don't use my bike (bicycle) regularly, but I did get a lot of good use out of it, but I did pump in a good 300 plus another 150ish over the years...

atm: my college degree probably can fit in with the rest of this thread.

I bought at Xbox 360 at the start of college last year, a long with a 27 inch HD tv. I have played the xbox no more than 5 times, however my roomate plays all the time, along with his wii. I do use the t.v. though, along, along with my HD/up-convert dvd player

hmm...
i have over almost $500 telescope and a few hundred more dollars in accesories that rarely gets use.
