Because I was waiting for the rest of the stuff.
The Xeons are for my brother (along with that slow video card!). He's building some kind of VR server for second city or whatever he calls it. I still say he's wanking porno. :Q
He got two quads and found out he couldn't use them together so I got one!
Should've gotten quad Xeons eh? His money not mine. He'll probably buy quads, hexes, octopussies whatever the next thing is called anyway next year. But he got a X1900XTX! hahahahaha!

I don't care there is nothing worth backing up. Those are for speed only. Just like a double blown big block.
Nice thing is if a disk kicks off, just shrink the array and hit the bootp image server. That's on a 10gb NAS and the system is back online in minutes. The only thing that complains is the adobe crap because of the drive volume change and it wants to reactivate.
The important stuff is kept safe and backed up in different places in the world. Nada a problem.

We got a bunch of those too! 146GB Hitachi 15K SAS drives. They are going to set up a RAID61 array which is brand new. SAS is getting quite popular now.

What is all this stuff for? With that kind of storage & processing power I'm guessing video editing using raw .EVO or .VOB files?

Let see, DVD movies and PC games in my case.
I have about 300 or more DVD movies <I think, didn't bother to count, so many of them> that I bought new <mostly from BB or CC>. Most of them are on sale <$10 or less>. I probably watched about 20 of them or less.
I have about 100 or more PC games and most, if not all, of them are still in factory plastic seals.
Ditto for the poster about car insurance. I haven't use it for the last 10 years. I never used my health insurance either, except for dental <knock on wood>.
Oh, almost forgot. I bought a Pioneer home stereo receiver for $150 new last year and it still in the factory sealed box.
