What is the best computer game you've ever played?

There have been a lot of games, most of them too old for most of you here..

Eons ago: Adventure, Zork
Veeery early: Ultima 1 / 2 / 3 and a Bard's Tale 1 / 2
Still early: Ultima Underworld I / II, Wing Commander
Later: Civilization
More recently: Quake I / II, Might and Magic 6 / 7
Lately: UT 2K4, Quake 3

I still remember how proud I was to beat Ultima I and how amazed I was at Ultima Underworld - That game was way ahead of it's time and had a good (but not great!) story line.

UT2k4...i play it too much...

I don't have spare time...cause i am always playing UT2k4.

Dunno what it is about the game...i guess the strategy & exhilaration & fun & people i play with.

1) gta vice city fro sp, i think i'll wait for the pc version of san andreas
2) halo...best mp ever
3) rise of nations for strategy. you play a 5 hour game and say wow, i'm never playing that game again, then in 5 minutes you are back starting a new one

KotOR is probably the best game I've ever played on the PC. There's a lot of other games I like a lot but for some reason, that one stands out as the most fun.

Man, I remember playing Quake and thinking it was the best game ever. Then the miracle of 3D comes to pass and GLQuake is born. Total bliss. Then,I get online with all of the other 28.8 freaks and the lag/fragfest was on! I cannot believe that I played GLQuake online for 5-6 hours a day,EVERY DAY. I played until my eyes were sore. Ahhh, so many memories. Oh, I am still on dialup btw.

Up till a few months ago I would have Said Duke Nukem 3d, Any of the Doom, Quake, or Half Life games, Total Annihilation, or Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

However, my vote now goes towards World of Warcraft.
