Well, when I read the very post that started this thread, I knew it would upset the Berkley Feel-Good Crowd, and I posted MHO anyway, knowing that I was being true to myself.
Opinions are like you-know-whats; everybody has one. I don't expect 90% of the folks on this board to understand my mindset. First off, half the people on this board still live with Mommy, so their opinion is a non-issue. The rest mostly live in a college dorm room like a rat in a hole in the wall, and have never been on their own, let alone cohabitated or been married and exposed to the whole men vs. women thing, nor had their manhood and/or mindset tested by a woman aiming to emasculate them thru either a forced Family Van purchase or just plain old henpecking.
I consider my mindset to be quite unique. There can be a coexistence b/t chivalry, old-fashioned thinking and modern thought. I believe in respect towards women. I believe women should work (if necessary) but I also believe that men are the dominant half of the species. Period. As such, what I say goes. When it comes to "this house" and "taking care of things" those decisions need to be left with the clearer-thinking of the two sexes.
There are plenty of women out there that agree with me. However, unfortunatelty, they all seem to want a large (as in two or more kids) family.
My mindset seems to also (unfortunately) fall in line with the "Emascualted Family Man" which is totally against my line of thought.
I will probably live my life out as a bachelor with a girlfriend. That is fine by me. Most women just don't appreciate a man who will work on the car at three in the morning or rewire the home theatre in the middle of the day.![]()
So you are saying you can't find a woman even dumber than you are who wants 1 or 2 children at most?
