If they didn't have to issue pistol to all the damn officers, that would save a lot of money. And you honestly think that an officer will ever get to use his pistol? If one ever does, you'll see it on CNN as news of the century. The last century, they did use it, but not this one my friend.

There is no such thing as a .50 ACP. Desert Eagle is chambered in .50 AE, .44 Magnum and I think there may be pistols chambered in .357 Magnum as well but that's it. You don't know WTF you are talking about.

I believe that Magnum Research makes a baby Desert Eagle in .45 ACP, .40 S&W and 9mm but there is no such caliber as .50 ACP.

Also, regarding your search for "US Army" + "Desert Eagle", you might want to check some of the sites that it returns, not just the numbers. No reputable site is going to state that the Desert Eagle is the standard sidearm of the US Army.
