What first world problem did you have today?

Bought some firewood as none of what I got this year is seasoned, kinda my fault for not starting gathering some earlier. Seller said it was seasoned, I get home and start to unload it and felt the logs are heavier than they should. Stick my meter in it and reading like 30%. Yeah that's not seasoned. I split one in half and tested inside and not any better.

Still waiting on chimney installer to finish his work too. I think I'm just going to finish it myself, he did the hard part of going through the wall so I just need to install along the outside wall and then through the soffit/roof. Can't rely on anyone these days, if you want something done you need to do it yourself.

I have several digital clocks that also function as alarms, some as timers too. If you aren't careful you can set an alarm without knowing it. It can be tough to figure out how to turn off the alarm if you don't have the instructions.

I'm kinda curious to see how the monetization works but not quite at the point where I qualify yet as you need 5M impressions per 3 month period I think. I probably need to make actual quality content and not just post memes to get to that point.

I have 6 pair of no fly light and airy and moisture wicking boxer briefs now and will slowly convert the whole collection, minus my smartwool boxer briefs.

Well glad you like them. I'll just have to hunt around to find the right pair. I like slightly longer boxer briefs that fit snugly on my legs - most of those kinds are this 'performance' type that have the pouches with no fly. Well, except one I found that looked perfect - except $35 a pair is pretty insane.

Yeah I just find fiddling with my weenie through folds of fabric is annoying so just pull the shorts down for a second.

Yeah the performance underwear market is pretty pricey. $30 underwear is out of my price point so I ended up finding this type of David Archy boxer briefs which turn out to be about $35 for three pairs. That brand makes a bunch of different types but I like these. You could probably find some with the fly.

The past week - I ordered a nice shark cordless vacuum that was on sale for $250. It never got delivered due to address issues, which is a real long first world problem story about the building management where my office is. So I had to wait x amount of days before I could request a refund. So i ordered another vacuum, this time that one wasn't on sale but a slightly newer version of it was on sale with a bit longer battery life. So I ordered that. Anyways that one came and it was clear it had been an open box, plus the pet cleaner attachment was just missing completely. So I complained to Amazon CS and said I would just like to exchange it. Well that model was no longer on sale and was $70 more. So I said can I just return this one, order the new one at full price, and geta a $70 credit? They said no.

I bought a "smart" light switch so I could turn my backyard lights on/off without having to go into the basement. (House is old, weird decisions abound.) But the switch leg didn't have a neutral/ground, just a two conductor romex running to the switch. (Neutral wire is used for the hot, black is the switched leg that goes back up to the lighting on the roof.)

So I had to buy a mechanical "egg timer" style switch instead, which means I can at least turn them on and not have to worry about turning them off.

Something happened to the box grater here, so 1 of the roomies bought a new one, that was nice of them.

But, they got it from the Dollar Store...

1st of all, I didn't realize they sold cheese graters there, which is impressive. And while it's supposed to suck at $1.25, but still FUCK whatever company makes these. It's worse than bad, probably took me 90 seconds to grate literally maybe 2 tablespoons worth of cheese, and it came out all mashed and deformed. And while I'm ranting, FUCK anyone who buys a cheese grater at the Dollar Store. If you're so broke this is all you can afford, you shouldn't be buying damn cheese. Normally in a kitchen pinch, I'd go to Bed Bath & Beyond, but they went belly up a few months ago, another 1stworldproblem.

I was vacuuming the rug that my computer desk is on which also acts as a spot for the chair so it does not ruin the floor, and the power nozzle caught a strand and started to unravel the whole carpet. It took out several feet of string before I had a chance to stop it. I've actually been meaning to get rid of that carpet and go down to just the floor, since I bought chair wheels that are not going to damage the floor, but the way the carpet goes under the desk makes it really hard to take out so have not bothered yet.

Have to admit I'm impressed the vacuum was able to do that though. It's a 18v Ryobi stick vacuum.

I hate it when you call a company (in this case about a billing question) and you get someone overseas, somewhere. It's almost impossible to carry on a conversation beyond basic questions. Usually the call quality is poor due to weak signal or low volume. Then, even if they understand basic English, they usually don't understand conversational English. They may be able to tell you when the bill is due and for how much (which is already on the paper bill or in the email), but they can't go beyond that if you need further details or are asking for some kind of adjustment, exception or change.
