My best work friend got into a fight with our boss and might not come back. There was a problem with my medical insurance that took over a week to get straightened out and I was on the phone for over an hour with them today. Found out my assistant who is leaving for 8 weeks on medical leave might be leaving early. I got home from work and the power was off, because apparently someone forgot to pay the bill. When the power came back on my old klipsch promedia 5.1s did not...Doctors office called and moved my appt up to tomorrow morning . I had to go back to work today after I clocked out because my assistants phone kept saying it was out of his service area or some crap. When I got back to work I took out a 200lb concrete flower pot in the parking lot.

This all happened before noon today

I am home and not leaving the house again today.

I have absolutely no idea how I am going to replace my speakers. They don't really make speakers like this anymore.

Do people abuse that privilege by thinking of clever ways to ride an ambulance to the hospital for fun?

No since they will fine you if you call it for no reason. If you have an actual medical issue then you're probably off the hook though, even if it turns out it was nothing, at least I would imagine so. Though I suppose if you do this all the time then they might fine you. Honestly not sure. Not really something you hear much about. The biggest users of ambulances now are crackheads ODing on fentanyl, and don't even think they pay the $50.

25 years of buying Eddie Bauer Jeans, and their whole line is now ‘stretch’ jeans. Fortunately, Levi’s (which were my old go-to), have good ole regular 505 non-stretch jeans. Liked EB jean better - c'est la vie! Oh had to order online, my size wasn't in stock at Macy's - and I don't feel like wandering around several stores to find them - sad.

I dunno. Ours is not. We started a system a few months back where I take care of basically everything and she does rent and utilities. I take care of everything but rent and utilities. She has the much easier and cheaper deal. It was fine though.

Many many years ago when we were struggling we had the utilities turned off and if you paid at a kiosk, on the automated phone system or online and you had to take note of the confirmation. Then you would call a different number and had to hope the power company could get your power on that day.

Today I grabbed my phone and paid the bill and after I submitted I grabbed a pen and paper to write down the number and the power came on.

The worst part of my day was losing a friend at work. She was very cool and we talked a lot. She is like a cool sister to me.

Damn, I can't help but think of all the more longer lasting things I could spend that kind of money on like some home improvement projects, or more tools, or toys etc. If I had that kind of money right now to spend on something I'd probably put it towards my cabin build.

I let somebody use my PC for 2 minutes to look up a movie time. Dunno what the fuck they did but I went into Windows Defender to scan shit and it says "windows security says your it administrator has limited access"

This person claims they didn't do anything, but they sure didn't just look up the theater. And now my pc's fux0r3d. I Googled how to fix it but nothing I found is working. Like holy shit, they fucked up a computer in under 2 minutes, that's impressive.

I'm about to reinstall Windows, and for whatever reason it's been sitting at 46% on getting updates for like 30 minutes. Gotta love no status indication bar or time remaining. Knowing M$ it'll jump from 46% to 100% in 1 second when it's done doing whatever it's doing that has it stuck at 46%.

I'll never let anyone use it again, ever.

I am not a good planner when it comes to audiobooks. I will get ready for a workout and at the last minute remember I need a new audiobook because I finished my last one. Since I'm trying to get going I usually just pick up whatever popular book is available through my library app on my phone. Last one I got has a great storyline that sucked me in but it turns out it's got a lot of romance novel crap in it that I have no interest in listening to. But I want to finish the book and see how the plot ends so now I have to fast forward every time there is a steamy chapter.

Was having payment issues with Skip The Dishes so ended up having to call the place directly, like, with the phone.

Honestly this is the 2nd time I have payment issues with them, maybe I need to stop using it. It's best to just call directly anyway as the restaurant gets more money that way.

Riding in the city on this absolutely gorgeous day and there are too many beautiful women. Too many. All different styles and expressiveness with fashion too. It's sensory overload.

May have a coffee date though, so hopefully that makes me feel better

Trying to log in my Square account but it won't let me for whatever reason. So I clicked reset password but I'm not getting the email from them (been hours now) Tried a few more times with no luck. I also tried calling to talk to a person, but the new phone I have isn't tied to my account so I can't talk to anyone. The stupid computer phone helper's telling me to go to the website to get a customer code. But since I can't log in I can't get a customer code. After clicking on 30 different links, I finally found a link to reset your password if you have a new phone #.

But in order to verify it's really you there's 2-step authentication which requires you to.... call and talk to an agent, and in order to do that I need a customer code, which I can't get without logging in to my account, which I can't do because it won't let me until I change the password. I understand why they need 2 step authentication, but there's literally no way I can talk to someone on the phone to verify it's me. And that looks like the only way I can get this resolved. Well, aside from emailing them which will probably take multiple back and forths and waste a week UGH.

It's kind of hilarious how they must know the link if you don't have the same phone won't work and still redirects you to a page where you have to log in to verify who you are. Reminds me of the modem company back in 95 that I called because the floppy that came with the modem was bad and I needed drivers so I could use it.

"You can connect to our FTP and download it, would you like the login info?" And they remained unable to comprehend my problem even as I tried to explain why I wouldn't be able to do that.

Waiting in for ages for a delivery of a large item. Kept hitting 'refresh' on the delivery-company webpage, updating the delivery guys' progress, watching the exact delivery time getting fine-tuned as it got closer to me.
(Even went and double-checked early this morning that the door bell was working).
Then it suddenly switches to "failed delivery, nobody at address, left card".
Usual palaver, with contacting company, they claim they tried to deliever but nobody was home, have to reschedule the whole thing. And _of course_ they didn't leave a card.

Goddam delivery companies - are there any of them that actually do the job they are paid to do?

Sometimes it's the useless people they hire. I had one idiot come to within 10 minutes of my location. Then he called and said it was late and he had to go back so he would hand it over to someone else and it would get delivered next day. Not sure what that waste of a human did but I was told upon inquiring the next day that I wasn't available to take the package so it would get delivered whenever a delivery slot was available. Package was delayed by almost 10 days.

Another one (a woman) tried the same thing with me. It was a 55 inch Sony TV. I put the fear of God in her and told her that if she didn't deliver it the same day, I would make sure to lodge a complaint against her that she was very irresponsible and unprofessional. That did the trick.

Then there was the super bright guy who recognized me by name and immediately went to my previous address and then called me outside the door there to ask me where I was. I was livid. It made no sense how he could ignore the completely different address on the package and just go straight to my previous flat. Then he had the nerve to suggest that he could leave the package with one of the people living there. Had to be really nasty, warning him of dire consequences and he then dropped it off at my office reception.

Oh, then there's the wonderful story of how a useless local online store imported almost $500 worth of stuff from the US to Dubai and sent it back, citing some stupid reason. Wasted two or three weeks with the absolutely horrendous customer support (they used to be superb before that incident) and in the end, they offered to credit my account with a paltry $12. They lost me as a customer.

The corporate IT nazis disabled ad blocker on all our browsers. WTF! This is after they blocked ad blockers on our phones. This is possibly the most counter productive "security measure" ever.

That sucks. I'm glad I'm "IT" at my small company. I can do what I want with pretty much all the tech here. Any way around the blocks?
