I am watching Chinese animation. Traditionally the Chinese sub is shown, but now they have switched to soft sub but Chinese is not one of the options. Now I cannot watch Chinese anime on mute. English subtitles are useless because they are just not able to convey the original meaning.

Or I have to wait til they show up on Youtube, which is a few episodes behind cuz they want you to subscribe.

So found out today we are all being relocated to another office. It could be worse, at least it's still in the same city so don't need to move or look for another job or anything, but the place we are at now is nice, we are the only ones there, it's a fairly quiet building and it just has lot of perks. Often times have the place to ourselves.

The new office is the main call centre and is very loud and busy. Basically we got a new manager and he already had a team there so he didn't want to have two teams in different buildings.

On a similar note corporate is also mandating that we be in the office Tuesday and Thursday, specifically. They basically picked the worse possible days. Like why not make it Monday-Tuesday, or Thursday-Friday, but the way they want it we'll basically be moving our PCs back and forth every single day. My boss is trying to reason with them to make an exception for us though. We work shifts and get lot of office time as is because there needs to be at least 1 person in office 24/7, so if it's about putting in so many hours in the office we are already exceeding 2 days a week. If this happens I think what will ultimately happen is we'll just end up staying in the office because it makes no sense to keep moving computers around and rebooting every single day, and that's probably what corporate wants, then they can turn around and say that they see most people rather be in office. Then they'll just get rid of WFH entirely.

I honestly did not figure we'd even be allowed to WFH at all anyway, so we got to enjoy it while we could.

Shopping in one store, I used my phone to check something. Left that store and drove about 10 miles to another store. There was a coupon on the phone that would be needed to scan at checkout. Reached for phone. No phone. No where. Hunted in back, in the crack of the seat, on the floor, no where. About to take off back to the other store in case they found it, I decided to check the back seat in case it slipped through. Opened the door, stepped out and as I reached for the back door handle I noticed something on the roof of the car. Yep. You guessed it.

10 miles, curves, turns, hills, bumps at 45 MPH and it rode it out the whole way.

It's in a faux leather wallet type case, so that must have helped.

Why are things like banks and post offices predominantly open during working hours? Our post office is 9-5:30 M-F and 9-1 Saturday. I feel like it should at least be open until 5:30 on Saturdays...

Walmart rearranged the frozen food. I had to walk back halfway down the isle to find the Stouffers. :rage::rage:
Costco is often an adventure where I have to tap a roaming employee and ask e.g. where's the mayo now?

My 1st world entry today is waking up 21 hours after my bivalent covid booster with a sore arm... thermometer says no fever. So far so good.

If you sleep until 10a that still leaves you 3 hours!

Get it in gear! ;)

Got my hair cut and woman doing the cutting gave me a small side of crazy talk.
I have been noticing this more in my area, the low cost hair cut places appear to be packed with women who talk crazy like:
The fat girl who claimed her landlord bugged her house and has hidden cameras but none have been found
The woman who want to train dogs to be on TV (commercials I think it was)
The woman who hears my Irish last name and immediately jumps into Puerto Ricans suck, blacks are welfare queens and Jews took all her money.

Todays crazy talk was about how to inherit a home from someone you are not related to….

There are two non crazy women, I need to schedule time when either of them is working or put the plan into place I don’t want to do. Say up front $20 tip if you stay quiet the whole cut. Sort of rude to do that but I am willing and able to say it.

Got locked out of one of my email accounts. For some reason it insists I have to verify who I am via 2FA (just password isn't sufficient this time, don't know why it's suddenly gotten fussy). At first I thought I'd been hacked, but, from what little information it gives me, it seems that when I set up the recovery options I (a) used my old mobile phone number, and (b) slightly mis-spelled the recovery email address.

I eventually found my old mobile phone - which still has the old sim card in it, so presumably the old number will still work - so thought I could solve it that way, but that phone refuses to charge becuase the battery is now completely kaput as it's been sitting unused in a drawer for years. So now I guess to get access to that email account (which in turn is needed for some other web site accounts) I'm going to have to order a new battery for this ancient phone. And then hope I've correctly remembered the password protection that this phone had.

Somebody needs to go to a barber shop instead of a salon.

Or learn to do their own at home.

-----------------

My old junk phones run when plugged in even if the battery is toast.

I actually am pretty capable of doing it myself, I just hate doing it and the back comes out shitty.

Hope you enjoy that mohawk cut...

FWP? My fckng dog is an "eat anything he can get in his mouth" kind of dog...and is a very aggressive chewer. We had been buying him chew toys made for "aggressive chewers," but apparently they're not indestructible. Somehow, Thursday, he managed to chew a fairly large piece off of one...and swallowed it. Thursday night, he was vomitting blood. Friday, he started out ok, but then his poop turned bloody. The vet had us discontinue the pain meds he had been taking just in case it was the meds affecting him. (NSAIDS) (stupid fckn dog can't come down the stairs like a normal dog...he makes the transit from the second floor to the first in about 3 leaps...and hurt his foot.) This morning, it's more blood than poop...so, off we go, 75 miles to the closest emergency vet...where we spent the next 8 hours...and $2000. <sigh> I guess I'm going to find out how good our pet insurance is on Monday. Finally got home after midnight.
