My damn water heater shit the bed last night/this morning. I remember hearing a soft bang but didn't think anything of it, which could have been it.

Woke up and went to take a shower, no hot water. Went to the basement and it was flooded. Shop-vac'd it all up, and now I have fans and a dehumidifier running.

Looking at it further, it seems the pressure relief valve is the culprit. The thing is 10 years old, so I'm just gonna get it replaced. I got in touch with a plumber who is going to replace it by Wednesday, so I'll probably be showering at work for a few days.

The water ended up leaking through to the garage. Luckily no drywall or insulation got wet, but the framing along the floor did. It seems to have dried up pretty well, so I'm going to keep running the fans and hope it's fine.

Reason #23 why I'm keeping my basement unfinished... :p

At least you have the option of showering at work lol... last time I was without hot water for a few days I had to cough up $10 @ the local Pilot truckstop for a shower! (health-clubs and the YMCA are also good for this sort of thing)

I am considering using this as an excuse to not go to work, not shower, not cook, and be a total slob for the next few days!

Ouch that sucks. I really need to look at replacing mine before it does go. It's over 10 years old and I never really did any maintenance on it. Pretty sure the anode rod is mostly in pieces sitting at the bottom of the tank. I can hear something rattle in there any time I turn on the hot water if I'm near it.

We have a discount/clearance store here that is part of a chain of stores in several; states. They specialize in junk of sorts. Discontinued, manufacturer overstocks, store returns and all sorts of stuff you can't find most places. A lot of it is junk but quite a bit is major brands priced less than half of regular store prices.

Among everything else I went in for, I found an item I wanted. Had a 20% off coupon they emailed out, supposed to be 20% off the highest priced item you're buying. Cashier rang it up wrong. Charged 20% of the marked price instead of taking 20% off the marked price. Not even sure how she did it. Didn't realize it until I was out of the store and loading the car. But yeah, I'll take a $30+ item for $8

Isn't that a reverse first-world problem?

My new PCP spoke to my new Pulmonologist and she put me on Spirvia handihaler. I am getting the powder stuck in my teeth
My wife has been on Spiriva for years and she hasn’t had that problem. Is your lung capacity at the point that you can’t pull in the powder?

I am trying to inhale quickly and forcefully & adjust my posture. I go for lung function tests in January. I have never done well with inhalers & use a spacer for my rescue inhaler

When cropping a video (cropping the height, not shortening the length of the video), VLC is cutting off the first second of the video so the 20 second video is reduced to a 19 second video. What's weird is that the first second shows up if I play the cropped video in MS Photos but not in VLC. Very annoying. MS Photos reports the video as being 19 seconds but plays all 20 seconds.

Costco didn't have the Kirkland Greenie Dental Chews in stock at all. Hoping it's not permanent, the pup loves them.

When I update windows 11 I always hit the Windows key to open the start menu and then type "update." Then "check for updates" appears as a search result. Now when I do it, "check for updates" does not appear. In fact the only thing that appears is "uninstall updates." WTF.
