My damn water heater shit the bed last night/this morning. I remember hearing a soft bang but didn't think anything of it, which could have been it.
Woke up and went to take a shower, no hot water. Went to the basement and it was flooded. Shop-vac'd it all up, and now I have fans and a dehumidifier running.
Looking at it further, it seems the pressure relief valve is the culprit. The thing is 10 years old, so I'm just gonna get it replaced. I got in touch with a plumber who is going to replace it by Wednesday, so I'll probably be showering at work for a few days.
The water ended up leaking through to the garage. Luckily no drywall or insulation got wet, but the framing along the floor did. It seems to have dried up pretty well, so I'm going to keep running the fans and hope it's fine.
Reason #23 why I'm keeping my basement unfinished...![]()
At least you have the option of showering at work lol... last time I was without hot water for a few days I had to cough up $10 @ the local Pilot truckstop for a shower! (health-clubs and the YMCA are also good for this sort of thing)
We have a discount/clearance store here that is part of a chain of stores in several; states. They specialize in junk of sorts. Discontinued, manufacturer overstocks, store returns and all sorts of stuff you can't find most places. A lot of it is junk but quite a bit is major brands priced less than half of regular store prices.
Among everything else I went in for, I found an item I wanted. Had a 20% off coupon they emailed out, supposed to be 20% off the highest priced item you're buying. Cashier rang it up wrong. Charged 20% of the marked price instead of taking 20% off the marked price. Not even sure how she did it. Didn't realize it until I was out of the store and loading the car. But yeah, I'll take a $30+ item for $8
There's probably a pill for that.My world is often reversed.
That powder costs more than cocaine or gold or gold plated cocaine. My new PCP spoke to my new Pulmonologist and she put me on Spirvia handihaler. I am getting the powder stuck in my teeth

Not exactly my first world problem but the fire panel at one of our buildings caught on fire today. I thought the irony was quite comical.
In case of no emergency, break glass to get fire.Well it is a fire panel...

Fire panel is not the fire alarm button. It's the panel near the front door that tells firefighters where the fire is.
