Kids stories can be freaky, really makes you wonder what goes through their minds. Like the bear man, what could that have been. Did the girl fall asleep and dream that? Unsolved mystery right there.

Reminds me of a story our boss told us when they moved into their house. His kid had an imaginary friend and kept talking to him. It grew into a big obsession. Turns out, there was a kid that died in that house at some point and his name was the same as his imaginary friend's name.

I lost my TV and internet today at 4 PM.

Spectrum said service would be restored by 6:30 PM. Then another text said it wouldn't be finished by 6:30, but would be finished soon. And then another text from them said by 11:30 PM. It finally was restored just shy of 1 AM.

However, the outage really didn't matter much in itself, but.......the series finale of Better Call Saul was tonight, and I missed it. I have to wait until Wednesday before Spectrum offers it to be watched on demand. That really sucked because I was really looking forward to see what was going to finally happen with Saul and Kim. :(

It's a very mild, milky cheese. No one seems to know how it got the name. It's somewhat similar to queso panela.

Dumbass kid came out to the backyard to swim. Comes out, jumps into pool. He forgot to put the towel in his hands on a chair first. Now I have to get off my ass to get another one.

Edit: technology to the rescue! I texted the olderst kid who is busy playing co-op game with who knows whom online and have him bring out the towel.

Look at it on the bright side! :D

The next time he forgets to bring one outside at all you'll know it could be worse from personal experience! (also exercise is healthy!)

That got me thinking wonder how often people jump in pools with their phone by accident lol. Or worse, get pushed into a pool. "It's just a prank bro!" $800 later. :p

That's one reason IP-68 water/dust-resistance is high on my list of "must haves" for an expensive smartphone.

I jumped in a lake with my pixel 3 and swam around for like 10 minutes before I realized it. Let it dry off and it worked fine afterwards, thing wasn't even rated at all but I guess it was still good for it.

I'm pretty sure the Pixel 3 carries an IP68 water/dust resistance rating so not surprising. (Pixel 3a however is not)

What waterproofing rating is your Pixel?
As mentioned, Google’s line of Pixels usually falls in either the IP67 or IP68 rating, with newer phones being IP68.

Here’s the rating for your Google Pixel’s waterproofing: (per 9-to-5 Google)

  • Pixel 6 Pro – IP68
  • Pixel 6 – IP68
  • Pixel 5a – IP67
  • Pixel 5 – IP68
  • Pixel 4a – N/A
  • Pixel 4 – IP68
  • Pixel 4 XL – IP68
  • Pixel 3a – N/A
  • Pixel 3a XL – N/A
  • Pixel 3 – IP68
  • Pixel 3 XL – IP68
  • Pixel 2 – IP67
  • Pixel 2 XL – IP67
  • Pixel – IP53
  • Pixel XL – IP53

My s20 is technically water-resistant too (IP68) for something like 6 feet but I have no inclination to test it because the couple times its gotten wet both led to weird/scary warnings about the "USB C socket being wet" which persisted for several hours.

Storm went through spawning all kinds of lightning. My computer was off but somehow the Corsair Ironclaw mouse got bricked by a current spike. Or maybe the USB port died? Anyway, I ordered a new mouse (without using a mouse).

Upper management signed everyone up for "team building" which involves everyone taking the Meyers Brigg quack personality test. I have a bit to go to retirement so I have to figure out how serious they are about this bullshit.

My new 3d printer is proving to be more of a PITA to setup than I anticipated (Anycubic Mega X). My Mega Zero 2.0 was much more plug and play in terms of getting the settings right for reliable prints.

Was my last day of work yesterday for this schedule and we still didn't get the new schedule. I have no idea when I start. I know I have at least 4 days off since the cut off is Saturday. I should just show up on Sunday and see who else shows up lol.

It's been a long 10 days. Our kids both had their wisdom teeth removed 7 days apart, one moved back into his dorms last Saturday, so we had to hall all his stuff up there for that, and in the middle of it all, our young dumb puppy ate some kind of nut/seed in our yard, and got sick yet again. He's a pain trying to keep him from doing that because pretty much anything he spots, he dives for it. And they always give him very rancid, explosive diarrhea for 24-36 hours, and it is just so pleasurable having to clean that nastiness out of his fur on his backside. o_O

My wife and I are trying to get a little trip to the mountains or the beach in about three weeks just for a kid / dog free breather for a few days.

JFC. I worked hard timing when I pick up my prescription meds so I only have to stop by once every 3 months. I try to be gentle on the planet but it seems like every other time I do this one of my meds is out of stock. How the hell can they be out of 2mg warfarin pills?

Thankfully, he's only had a few accidents inside since we got him. Most of the time, the nastiness happens outside.

And his breed has a lot of hair on the backside, and it's not trying to get the nastiness off of him before he can come back inside. Australian Shepherds are a hyper breed to begin with, and trying to get them to hold still while you do it is......let's just say an exercise in patience (and trying not to gag). 🤢

Maybe you should shave his butt!
