Mortgage just hit $69,000 Well a bit more than that but in the 69k range. Would be cool if it was $69,420 :p

I may need to reduce my payments soon though, but trying to power through and keep the same payment. I figure it should be paid off in 5 years at this rate.

I've been really looking forward to Microsoft's new Flight Simulator and this weekend was accepted into their alpha testing group.

So I dig out my rudder petals and throttle/joystick and connect them up, launch the game and accept the NDA, and come to find out it still needs to download 125 GB of data still. Looks like I won't be playing tonight.

I've got a good plan with Comcast.
300 down.
5 up.
Actually that kinda sucks if you plan to share things on Youtube. But its great for streaming video and downloading large games.

I just did the math. Downloading such a game on dial up would take about 222 days. And since we all know dial up won't let you stay connected that long, it would actually be more like a year.

Woah 125GB? I guess most of that must be terrain textures and stuff. I did not even realize MS still had a flight sim franchise, I may actually check that out at some point.

Speaking of beta I applied for Starlink. I'm sure I must be one of millions so I'm not holding my breath but it would be pretty cool to beta test that.

This is the first new Flight Simulator in a long time. The things they are doing with it are insane. You can basically fly anywhere in the world. They are taking tons and tons of data from Bing maps to basically map the globe accurately. I don't even game anymore and it's got me excited.

I was absolutely positive my insurance included free windshield replacement.
It does not.
Matter of fact theres a 1000 dollar deductible which of course is way more than the cost of replacement.
So I'm gonna be out approximately 395 dollars very soon.
And the guy cant even make it to me for a week.

I fucking hate summer time... Mostly for the weather - BUT there is a new reason lately...

I work from home - and I swear everyday - and for a large portion of the day all I hear are loud ass mowers and blowing all day.... It sucks, because I have to do client presentation meetings remotely and can't hear shit when they're even 2 houses away.

Isn't windshield replacement a part of comprehensive coverage, thus susceptible to the comprehensive deductible?

What I have heard is that they will do crack-fills free of charge if the crack is small enough where it wont spread

depends on where you are I guess. I have full coverage so even glass deductible is covered.

The heat and humidity combined with my foolishness cause the interior pressure to build and create a MASSIVE crack.
Theres no fixing this one.

Its is pretty god damn air tight.
You pecker!
When I'm standing outside and open the door, hot gas escapes from the inside of the car briefly but quickly.

err, that is just airflow when you open the door. if your car was airtight, why would car fill up with water when you drive it into a river/ocean?

So I think my tree in the front yard is in danger of splitting down the middle. It's kind of too bad as it's a nice tree but I think I will end up needing to cut it. I've had several big branches break off over the years, and now if it does split completely a pretty big one could hit the house.

The only good thing about cutting it is if I did, it would allow me to put lot of solar panels on that part of the house facing east. South side does not have much room. Though I don't know if I want to put that kind of money into solar when it will only really work for like 3 months of the year. I am saving up through corporate ESP to buy property where I could do a proper ground mount solar setup instead so I rather not touch that money.

Don't have a dryer? Though in this heat using a dryer would feel counter intuitive lol. I still need to look into a way to recycle that heat in winter though, it's kind of a waste burning 4kw+ of power only to put the heat outside.

So this is what my tree is looking like, I need to decide what I want to do, may have to cut it as I think that it will collapse eventually, on the truck or house. Or both. If both of those branches split, one ends up on the house, the other in the driveway.

I'd be sad to see the tree go, but I also kinda want to use my electric chainsaw. :p We're gonna need a bigger battery. I have a plug in one too my grandpa gave me.

There are indoor dryer vents. Be careful - only use this if you have an electric dryer, otherwise you could die.

Not sure about the humidity, though.

Problem with that is it's going to smell like laundry. I've been in houses that use those and you can smell it right away. What you want is some kind of heat exchanger but you also want to filter the lint out very well or it will plug up the fins.
