I guess not really a 1st world problem for me, more for my parents. They are in Toronto and they got a bit of "weather" and lot of stuff closed down that they wanted to go see like the Christmas lights displays. They thought it was kind of annoying how they just shut down everything down there when the weather is a little bad. Their flight back also got delayed lol.

I just forced an unexpected operating system restart on my machine and lost everything I was working on. (well it's saved but I have to reopen everything again). I wanted to shutdown a VM and typed poweroff in the wrong SSH session.

Again I chose to not find any reason to participate in CyberMonday, much like last Friday and not participating in BlackFriday. Nothing I was interested in was on sale. This is the way; I have spoken.

The best deal is when you don't spend any money at all. :p If I'm actually in the market for something I like to wait and see but I typically never end up buying anything.

I gots two to bitch about today.

First one is I always forget about food I buy unless it's in my sight or I see it occasionally. Like I bought pretzels, not something I *always* buy but sometimes, and put them up in the cupboard above the stove where I normally put chips. I'd constantly forget to take some to work because I just forgot about them up there. I usually don't forget about things in the fridge cause I see them, but like granola bars which are in another cupboard I'll forget too. It's nuts. Speaking of nuts, I just pulled out a bag of salted cashews from my desk at work, and guess what... "sell by 07-28-19." LOL. They taste fine, but again, they were in my bottom drawer and I don't see them that much. So I put them on my desk to the side so I'll see them all the time rofl.

The other one is when I go to wipe something up or clean something, I can't just clean that little spot where something spilled or was dirty. I gotta wipe clean the whole counter/desk/whatever, and perhaps the microwave that's sitting on the counter (the inside too). I CAN'T HELP IT

I need a new catalytic converter in my truck. Over a grand. But I will save in the long run I was getting like 25 litres per 100km. Picking it up today as they need to order the part.

junkyard?

Edit: IIRC, you have a 2009 F150? Don't know which engine, but Rock Auto has cats for ~$185-$350, depending on which engine and CARB compliance. You SHOULD have something similar up there. Snow & Ice Auto? :p

Next edit: Looks like Rock Auto will ship up there...worth considering...

I'd only really save a few hundred at most. By the time I account for shipping etc, and it's still the same labour. May as well put in a new part if half the price is labour anyway.

Honestly I've never done any kind of maintenance having to do with a catalytic converter I don't know crap about cars either... is there something you're suppose to do to maintain it?
