Went to bed late again, really late. Got less than 4 hours of sleep. Dang I'm dumb. It is my sole mission today to not repeat that (historically speaking I'll fail, but I have faith still!).

Loan program updated. Now I can't log in. I've been here since 7:15 and would normally be done with my daily grunt work by 9:00. When does tech support open....9:00.

Wife's sarcoid is acting up and she needs some prednisone. Talked with the neurologists office twice and they still haven't called it in. Going postal could be the new norm when dealing with the HC system.

Oh billy. We got the news this morning that our beloved app dev manager is leaving the company for a new job. It'll definitely be a hit for us cause he really looks out for us and has some specialized knowledge, which hopefully the latter can be partially transferred over in the next two weeks by him. He'll be sorely missed but I can't blame him (I'm looking to gtfo too lol). This place just isn't that great for developers I'm afraid,, at least ones that want to remain even partially current with technologies.

The latest heat wave and wet snow and freezing rain wrecked everything. Jagged ice everywhere in the driveway, shed solar panels caked in an ice/snow crust, and overall everything is all screwed up. Hate being in this position so early in the year. It's not even December yet and my driveway is already a huge mess. I like to try to at least stay as close to the concrete as I can but it's already several inches of ice in some areas. Still very early in winter so it will build up quite a lot more over the year.

Tell us how you REALLY feel about it...

I feel your pain though. Fucking Windows 10 just doesn't want to take "NO!" for an answer.

The only real "first world problem I've had today is my 2013 Panasonic plasma TV is starting to develop "issues." A bit of residual "screen burn," but more is the red/pink "blobs" that have developed in the back screen. Looks like it's probably a heat issue...it has two rear fans, and from some of what I've read, they're just not sufficient to keep things cool in the back.
I'm looking for a replacement in the various BF sales...o_O holy shit...prices have dropped! I think I paid $2200 for this set in late 2013...now, I can get a very nice (not top of the line) 65" Samsung 4k set for ~$1000.

The big plus of a new set is the reduction in power consumption. The Panny plasma...585 watts. The new Sammy LCD sets, 75-80 for NORMAL use.

my plasma is a 2015(ish?) samsung, the final generation of set, and i just saw mostly about 100 watts watching the autoplaying netflix home screen preview. peak about 140. granted, that's a 51" set. a 65" tv is about 70% bigger so probably would suck down 70% more juice.

i dunno what it was with the panasonics but they sucked up power and weighed a ton. my samsung weighs in at less than half my 42" panasonic did.

You say that like any of us ( except the two other Ontarioans here) have ANY idea what Service Ontario is.

Basically the license bureau. But they do more than just licensing. Wanted to get a refund for my license plate sticker since I renewed it for 2021 and then my car died and I got a truck. (different size plates on a truck)
