I'm preparing an environmental site assessment for a piece of land a client wants to buy. The place is a total shithole with garbage dumped all over the place (vacant land in an urban setting). I haven't found anything hazardous yet. Hazardous is easy, "Shit's hazardous, buyer beware!" Clean is easy; "No problems, done." A craphole without hazardous constituents takes pages and pages of documentation.

How explicit do you have to be? Is every bit of crap enumerated?

Delta delayed the Augusta flight 2hrs and bumped the ATL flight to tomorrow. Customer service hold time...3hrs and I called right when they opened, 7am. Bastards.

I've got a European hornet in the house again. They're the über soldats of the insect world. I smacked it with a rolled up piece of cardboard, and I don't know where it went. It made a satisfying crack, but there's about a 5% chance I killed it, and now he's pissed :^(

I'm sure one of the cats will get it haha. Though it's probably a bad idea to let a cat play with that.

I have a dead crow in my yard. Was hoping an animal would pick it up but it's still there and starting to smell. I'm not sure what to even do with it, garbage day is Friday I don't want that sitting in my garbage for that long. Tempted to fling it in the school yard in front of my house lol. I'm on 12h day shifts though so I end up going to bed at like 10 and there's still light out. I don't really want to be seen doing that lol.

My cat's puking trend seems to be on the rise lately. Her latest thing is getting the dining room chairs. I was so pissed today I almost felt like ending her right there. She puked all over under the dining room table and on 2 chairs. 3rd time now. These are upholstered chairs. If it was just one spot it would be one thing, but it's everywhere. She also got the bed in the spare room but I gave up on that a long time ago. There's plastic over the mattress and it's just covered in puke. I just can't keep up. Shoved her in that room and closed the door as punishment. I'm really contemplating getting rid of her, I've just had it dealing with this. In the end I think I would regret and feel sad if I did though... I just don't know what to do anymore.

I have a cat but I'm no cat expert (have only had him a couple years), but that's not normal behavior, is it? I mean I'd think a barf every once in a while (mine does a couple times a year roughly, I think due to hairballs and eating so frickin fast) is ok, but that often? I think I'd bring it to a vet and get it checked out or see what they say.

No idea. I've spent over a thousand at the vet and they can't find anything. They just try to push the vet food but that stuff is even worse because it's wheat based.

I found this food once that had probiotic in it and it seemed to help but they stopped making it.

A client wants to flip a lot that has lead contamination from an old on-site lead mine. He wants us to clean up the lot so he can sell it, "just dig up the contamination and haul that crap away". I spent the morning explaining that we can't dig our way to clean because the lead mine is, shockingly enough, located on a lead ore body and we would have to mine out the entire ore body leaving a bit of a crater and detracting from the lot's curb appeal. I'm dutifully avoiding the obvious question, "What the f' were you thinking when you bought this?"

Oh wow. Well that sucks man. Not sure what to tell you then. :cryingcat: If you wouldn't care about spending a bit more, maybe try a different vet? Dunno.

My girl's been a PITA peeing on the floor. She's confined to the family room now. I miss having her in bed with me at night, but I can't deal with the pee anymore. I've been wanting to get rid of the carpet, and go to the hardwood that's beneath it, but I have to make the time, and rent a container to put it in. That'll get rid of the smell, and discourage peeing since it won't magically disappear anymore.

Anyway, maybe try going half way with your kitty. Leave her in the punishment room, but move your computer in there or something to spend time with her. Not perfect, but it keeps the puke contained, and she'll still get to interact with you.

I need to figure out how to catproof everything. As a start I should probably replace the kitchen chairs with plain wood ones but that basically means getting a whole new dining room set. Need to figure out something for the couch too. Almost need to just replace with some kind of bench or something. Something you can still lay back on, but that's made of varnished wood.

I should get rid of that bed in the spare room too, even though it's covered in plastic it's still a pita cleaning that all the time. I should probably just keep her food in there too and lock her in there all the time. it practically gives me anxiety wondering what kind of mess I'll walk into when I get home from work.

That is third world problem. First world people have gigabit internet connection.

I should be thankful that XFinity even offers "Up To 250 MBit" service where I live. Frontier isn't even trying to compete with their speeds anymore with their VDSL offering.
