Switched back to the original NES 72-pin connector because the $12 replacement was garbage and barely worked at all.

With the original connector, I have to tweak the game slightly so it will work.

Bought another connector on eBay...same problems:

  • The pins are so tight, you can barely remove the game cartridge (death grip).
  • Once it's fully inserted, the game doesn't lift up as far as it's supposed to when it's popped-up, making it even more difficult to grab and pull.
  • Games require *way* more tweaking and fiddling to make them work (compared to the old/worn original connector).
  • Zelda won't even play, no matter how much I tweak it.

Back on the original connector and it's fine except I occasionally have to tweak it a bit when the game doesn't work first try.

WTF?! I thought I'd spend $10-$12 to make this NES 100% reliable, but the crap connectors they're selling now just don't work. I replaced connectors in 2 Nintendo systems almost 10 years ago and the new connectors were 100% perfect.

Grr...

I don't want to buy a Blinking Light Win. I would lose the original/nostalgic cartridge load functionality.

I think I'm going to have to get a microphone for my shitty YouTube videos. No sound is starting to become a hindrance.

Had to go to Costco to get some nicotine gum. It's about half the price of anywhere else. Anyway, I figured, who's going to be out shopping tonight? Everybody it seems. Parking lot was packed, aisles were packed, lines were stupid long. Fortunately, if you just get shit from the pharmacy dept, you can check out there. Winning!!!

I was just at costco tonight. Alka-seltzer, milk, three bottles of wine, and the very last Stone Brewery 24-bottle variety pack in the store.

Ahh, the sweet smell of victory!

My cleaning lady said she couldn't make it tonight but would come over at 7:30am, on Thanksgiving, and clean before my guests arrived. I told her I would be sleeping.

My order was supposed to arrive today but Amazon sent the package to UPS instead of USPS so now they have to wait until UPS sends it back so they can send it out again.

Just realized the idiocy of the people where I live...

Air intake for the central heating? Let's stash a dozen cans of shoe spray within 1' of the vent. That skull and bones on every can doesn't mean poison or toxic, and these cans never leak. They certainly don't let some crap out/off after being used either.

P.S. I don't use shoe spray.

Is it common for people to have only one intake? I've got at least 3 or 4 return registers in my house.

Building is about 100 years old and it has two returns that are about 10' apart on the floor. There might be one more in the basement beside the furnace. Kitchen is always toasty, every other room is always freezing.

Regardless, you have 4 floors (basement to attic) to stash toxic stuff, let's put it by the furnace/air conditioner intakes. Nothing should happen, but in case it does, let's make it as dangerous and messy as possible.

Had trouble getting the snow blower to start, we had a very late snow this year so it was actually my first time using it since last winter. It cut into the time I would have used to stop by Tim Horton's before my night shift so I had to drive straight to work.

It was sunny and warm in the 70s today and it is dripping rain and it is down to 40s in less than 3 hours. Weird weather in the South.

It's taking waaaaaaay longer than normal for Godaddy to update the nameservers I switched today. So my site that nobody ever accesses has been unavailable for like 4 hours now.

That's why I set my TTL to 10 minutes, and I set it to like 1 minute 10 minutes before I do the move. :D

Mind you some servers don't always honour that so it can still take longer.

My potato harvest came in...

wd5cchp.jpg

I had a bag of red potatoes I never opened, and they went off. I was gonna throw them on the compost pile, but thought I'd stick them in the ground, and see what happened. That was the beginning of September; about a month too late. Anyway, me and the girl had a good laugh over it. We found a few more potato beads after the picture was taken. I might throw them in with some mixed vegetables, cause why not?

Crop failure and famine is a third-world problem too.

How do you not have a cell phone to record audio on?

I want somewhat reasonable quality. My cell phone is turd. I could use my full-frame camera, my compact camera, or my super zoom camera... but I'm a gear whore?

Actually, I was about to pull the trigger on a Blue Yeti since it's on sale for CA$ 90 right now... but then I remembered digital voice recorders. Portable, no need to be near computer. And since I'm a gear whore, I'm trying to figure out a way to use a Shure SM-58 dynamic microphone. What am I using it for though? Don't know, that's why I'm sitting still for now.

And I think I cut my ear this morning while head-shaving. Went full intellectually disabled and mashed my Mach3 into my ear even though I could feel it. Can't see any cuts, hope it doesn't get infected and my ear falls off.
