Extension cords. That's what I do. Adding extension cords gets you lower than the previous month. Once you get to zero use, pickup a cheap solar panel from harborfreight, and feed some back into the system.

I have a dozen two pound tin reserve :colbert:
I know right? What kind of animal let their home coffee stash drop so low that they run out? I start panicking and restock immediately when I drop to like 2 bags.

I go to wegmans every 4-5 weeks, and pickup two big canisters of their store brand coffee for my day to day stuff. I also keep supplied with deluxe whole bean coffee for "special" times at home. If I somehow run out of wegmans coffee(it's happened once or twice in the last bunch of years), I can grind my special coffee to take to work.

I hesitate to ask, but, what the hell. Exactly what are these special times? I mean, I love coffee, but....

Just something nicer, more expensive, and labor intensive for hanging out around the house. Wegmans pre grind is good, but not amazing. It's like first rate diner coffee. It's pretty cheap, and easy to make pour over while I'm getting ready for work, as opposed to the whole bean I grind in a hand mill, and typically make in one of my French presses.

edit:
For context, I drink ~50oz of wegmans coffee daily. That would be expensive and labor intensive doing good whole bean in those quantities.

Ah another Cincinnati chili lover. Now before I decide if we are best friends or mortal enemies:
Skyline or Gold star?
I like both of them (my dad would only eat Skyline Chili), but if I had a gun to my head and had to choose, I guess I like Gold Star just a little better.

When I travel back to Ohio, at least in the areas I go to, there are a lot more Gold Star locations, so that could be the deciding factor after all of these years.

So close to the right answer. I'd be sure to regularly check your brake lines if I were you

My power steering shit the bed this morning. Too dark and cold to really check anything so have not looked more into it but this is my last shift so tomorrow during the day I'll check for anything obvious then call mechanic shop to get an appointment. Not good to keep driving it this way. May also be a tie rod... I'm just assuming power steering at this point. Will check that tomorrow if I can get up early enough to get light.

The whole Skyline Chili brought up a memory today, and I know this thread isn't the place for such stuff, so...........

Warning: Spoiler contains major example of someone being a total:

Whenever I traveled back to Ohio, my dad always took me (and my wife and kids when they travelled with me) to Skyline Chili every single time. And It was always his favorite location in Forest Park, Ohio. It was just something we always knew we'd do when there. And there was only one "real" Cincinnati Chili, and that was Sky Line. In fact, I never knew him to eat at Gold Star even once.

When his health started rapidly declining in his later years, we visited him. Of course he insisted he take us to the Sky Line location to eat, and off we went. However, this time he only drank water and wasn't able to eat anything because of medical issues. I felt so bad and that was the moment I really knew he wasn't going to be around much longer. In fact, it was the last time we were able to do that tradition before he passed. :(

More buzzkilling stuff:

Sorry to hear that. I can tell from his love of a proper Cincinnati Chili that he was a good man - a titan among lesser beings if you will. Jokes aside it sounds like a nice tradition and I can empathize a little with that story. When my father was in the hospital with cancer I'd always ask him if I could bring him anything when I visited and he always said a milkshake from Steak and Shake so it became a bit of a ritual. The first time he downed the milkshake in no time. That changed over my visits until the last couple that I brought him that just sat there and melted - they were like a barometer for his declining health. That was 7 years ago and that memory comes up every time I see a Steak and Shake and killed any tiny desire I might ever have to go in one again. Nothing against them - just not something I'm keen on reliving

You asked? Pfft...turn in your mancard immediately.

My wife also asserted her dominance when I bought a new TV 2 years ago.

Bought a Frigidaire in July to replace a 3.5 year old Whirlpool that was a bit of a saga. Now the Frigidaire is running at 47-49 degrees. Luckily it's under the 1 year warranty so a technician is coming over Monday. Disposable crap.

Frigidaire is pretty much crap...as are most of them nowadays.

Both refrigerator repairman said whirlpool and Frigidaire were the better brands, but not that great. They both said stay away from Samsung and LG though.

I did try to get another whirlpool but it was out of stock.

We live in a society of disposable shit in too many ways. A fucking fridge should last at least a decade

I bought a compact Frigidaire over this past summer myself and so far its been good although they really are built like relative crap these days.

The only issue I've had so far is inconsistent freezer temps which resulted in a pint of too-soft Haagen-Daz ... it has not been repeated thankfully.
