Should have bought the 75" anyways. It's unlikely she would be able to notice the difference of an 10 extra inches.

;)
Joke is on her though because distracting her with the 75" and 8K versions made it WAY easier to "justify" the QN90A vs. the $6-900 "crap" versions we saw on display at BJs

Both refrigerator repairman said whirlpool and Frigidaire were the better brands, but not that great. They both said stay away from Samsung and LG though.

I did try to get another whirlpool but it was out of stock.

We live in a society of disposable shit in too many ways. A fucking fridge should last at least a decade

We bought a KitchenAid (still just a Whirlpool) last year. It's OK, but like every other Whirlpool we've ever owned, the in-door ice maker shits ice on the floor occasionally.

Buying a refrigerator is an insane experience. No brands are reliable any more even though the tech is 50 years old. Wtf.

They have cheapened the metals and other things in the compressor so they don't last as long. Circuit boards are also an added point of failure.

I bought a used now-70 years old freezer and it is still going.

It's crazy just how bad they are now. Not looking forward to when my Kenmore dies. They don't make fridges like that anymore.

I think fridges will be like TVs eventually too where you have no choice but to buy a smart one. Same with washer/dryers. They are really pushing the cloud connected smart stuff now days. They are even trying to push subscription based washing machines now, it's insane. You will own nothing and be happy. I suppose one could strip out all the electronics and put their own and make it work though. If they give these things away with the intent that you pay the subscription fee I'd buy it just to rip out the guts and put my own. Buy it for the chassis and mechanical parts, basically.

Speaking of stuff breaking, lost power steering on my truck. Finally got around to looking at it since I'm done work so I was able to go when there's light out. It's really hard to tell what's what but I do see a hose near the radiator that is split in half so I presume it's that. There's some red liquid in the general area too, which would be the fluid. I got an appointment to get that looked at in the new year. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. The joy of owning a Ford. lol.

I like both of them (my dad would only eat Skyline Chili), but if I had a gun to my head and had to choose, I guess I like Gold Star just a little better.

When I travel back to Ohio, at least in the areas I go to, there are a lot more Gold Star locations, so that could be the deciding factor after all of these years.
MIL knows I love skyline and saw these on sale. My stocking had a bit of heft to it this year

I'll bet his truck hasn't even hit 100k miles.

Had less than 100k when I bought it, it's at like 130kish now I think. I'd have to double check.

Big issue is all the salt they put on the roads, it destroys vehicles. Really wish they would just stop using it and switch to either sand or beat juice.

Well, you Canadians use km and all, so there's always that stumbling block. ;)

Yeeha. My f150 has 155 on the clock. It knocks when its cold. I just had to replace the window regulator and motor yesterday. If I open my door and don't see a dome light come on that means my windows and wipers wont work until the truck feels like letting them work. It leaks brake fluid and my ac died last summer.

Yeah it's no mystery why the Japanese pretty much took over the American car industry for awhile. Ford should be REALLY happy they can't seem to design a proper full-size (and FAR more reliable!) pickup truck for some reason or they might be long-gone.

Makes me sad. :confused_old:

I really hope the F150 lightning involved a total redesign and better quality. If you pay 80k for a truck it better freaking last decades!

I'm hoping there will be some that show up on the used market in my area in the next few years. Not many EVs here, I think there's one guy who owns a Tesla and only takes it out in summer, but maybe EV trucks will pick up especially with the gas prices.

I barely even went to my property I bought because it costs too much in gas lol.

Truck is down and I was hoping that my boss would make it easy for me and just let me work my night shifts from home but no go. Ended up being able to borrow my dad's car for the time I'll be working, but I hate to do that because theft and vandalism is super bad down town and with my luck it will probably happen when it's not my vehicle.

If you let Cheez live in your shed, he'll probably let you borrow his scooter whenever your truck breaks down.
