Got a letter a few hours ago. I'm laid off along with 1200 other people.

Fucking commies and the lying cover up bullshit. I feel for the people but the fucking government is evil.
Dang, that sucks man.

I'm really grateful my job allows me to work from home without any interruption to what I do.

Also it's an employee owned company so I think it's a little less likely to lay people off since we're all in it together. That's what it seems to me, anyway; I'm pretty clueless about employed owned companies, though, to be honest.

I start work from home tomorrow and my HDMI cables I ordered to hook up my monitors still didn't come in. Looks like I will need to steal some off the TV!

Really I don't get why but all the ones I have here are HDMI to mini. I must have messed up the last time I did an order, I have zero use for those cables and I have so many of them.

Negative interest rates are here?
Nope. They don't want tellers or to have to handle cash. $1.20 per $100 over whatever the limit is. And to think I used to bitch when it was .10 for every $100.

I wasn't born Jewish but I can do a pretty good impression.

Yeah, Neo Geo Mini takes miniHDMI. This bin has hundreds of mini-HDMI Type-C to standard HDMI Type-A cables and these are just the ones I've unpacked. I've got another 300 more boxed upstairs. ;)

I modify consoles like N64, GameCube, Wii, and Dreamcast to have mini HDMI ports... digital to digital; image coming out of the HDMI port was never sampled from analog. Here is an N64 and Wii I'm working on...

"UltraHDMI" These things are crazy-popular!

"WiiDual" The "Dual" part means it also enhances analog outputs (restores RGBS and improves YPbPr).

Heck, I'd offer to trade for your miniHDMI cables if you didn't already have standard cables on the way!

i masturbated so hard my dick got a cramp.
there are 3 versions of the Rebecca Linares/Max Hardcore clip out there.

1) scene from Universal Max 7 (EU version)
2) Max's director's cut after he got out of jail (which includes a behind the scenes look at the shoot)
3) scene in the multi-gigabyte 'Max Hardcore collection' torrent

I played each one side by side several times to see what the differences were and never got past the midway point

My bank is doing that with US $'s.

Got stung by that when we ordered our Super Nt consoles from Analogue a few years ago. American user (my brother) of an American payment network (Visa check card) from an American bank (Bank of America) used to order a product from an American company (Seattle) with an American CEO (Chris Taber) and an American chief engineer (Kevin "Kevtris" Horton of Indiana) shipping from an American logistics center (Arizona)... still got a surprise "Foreign Transaction Fee."

Made a stink about it but they did nothing other than telling us to talk to our bank. Bank blames them of course. Says the transaction happened through Causeway Bay (Hong Kong).

I knew better when I ordered an Analogue Mega Sg and made sure to use a card with no fee but I saw people were still getting this surprise fee for their 2020 products (Analogue DAC and cartridge adapters for the Mega Sg). Thing is, they had more warning than we ever did, since we seem to be the first to complain publicly about it.

Isn't that kinda their job? That's getting paid extra to what you're supposed to do in the first place. That's like going to a restaurant, and your food comes to the table raw. "Oh, you want that cooked? That'll be a surcharge. We don't want our cooks heating anything up".

Banks aren't making jack because the rates are so low so they are feeing like skanks. Understandable but I don't have to like it.

Wait until the gubment says cash carries the coronka and bans it.

Heard it here 1st.

Banks around me are only charging for business account. For personal account, I can still deposit cash without getting charged.

At least they're not charging us interest for keeping money in the bank. Yet.

Several of my high interest reward checking accounts have their rates lower. From 5.01% to 4.25%, 4.05% to 3.75%, and 3.05% to 2.05%.

Try to use credit card without foreign surcharge. I used Capital 1 credit card while I was in Japan and did not get any surcharge on top. The exchange rate (from JPY to USD) was sucky though.

ebay:
paypal defaults to dynamic currency conversion (dcc) when seller lists in foreign $.
paypal charges 3.25% for dcc.

I have to manually change to let my credit card to do the conversion. (and my credit card charges 0% for the foreign transaction fee)

F U paypal!

Just realized one of my brand new 4k monitors has a stuck pixel. This freaking blows. I really don't feel like having to deal with a RMA. Those tend to take long. I'm going to try to contact best buy to see if I can start the process but postpone sending it back, I don't want to be without it now that I'm working from home but I know if I don't get a replacement that will bother the hell out of me.

I ran a noise animation to see if it clears it as sometimes it can from what I googled, but it's not doing anything. Oddly it does go away depending on where I drag the window.

"stuck" pixels can often be "massaged" away, I hear. Check it out. It's the "dead" pixels that you have to watch out for.

Besides, just one (sub-) pixel, isn't usually grounds for RMA. You need like 7, or a "cluster", for most mfgs.

Yeah playing around with it. Now it seems to be gone when it's black but still see it when it's white. Hoping I can make it go away but either way this sucks especially given how much I paid. This does not bode well.

And another FWP, my church is going to be live streaming but they want to use this Zoom thing that requires me to install a plugin. First thing I found when I googled it is that it's riddled with security issues. Figured I can just enable the plugin as needed... but first thing it wants when I install it is a huge list of permissions including access to my google account. Why do they make stuff so freaking invasive? I just want to watch a live stream, I should not even need to install some stupid app or plugin.
