Where I delivered food, we called that "ATM Poor." It would hit our tips when we show up with $19.50 worth of food and the customer only had $20s.

That's poor restauranteering unless that was some wild unforeseen combination of goods. People that know what they are doing will plan for most totals to be $17 and change or $20 and change to avoid this exact problem.

Expectation of what exactly? A bad sandwich from Pot Belly's? Real first worlders have peons make them artisan sandwiches with everything crafted by hand.

Pot Bellys is my favorite. Trying Jersey Mike's again next week though, I remember liking that. Maybe my next first world problem will be trouble deciding which one I want for lunch soon. :awe:

I refuse to patronize any non-kosher deli. There's millions of us that can't eat pork.

Don't confuse your religious reasons with "I can't eat pork".

Excuse me? Who said anything about religion? I don't give a shit about that crap. I'm allergic to the growth hormones they use in commercial pork. I was in the hospital for a week the last time I took a bite.

Do you know what Kosher is about?

Alright, fair enough, we use it as a generic term since it's far easier for the vanillas to understand and doesn't require 5 minutes of explanation.

ah, fair enough. A legit case of "can't", but are there really millions of you?

so you're cool with no hormone/organic/etc pork, e.g. snake river farms?

Haven't heard of them specifically but yes, I buy whole hogs from a local farmer I can trust and it doesn't hurt me.

My whole point being, if a deli can't buy a second slicer to dedicate to pork free, then they don't deserve the business. Would any of you be okay with a car mechanic using SAE tools on your metric bolts?

Not the same argument.

This is why they have to put warning labels on so much food (ESP PEANUT ALLERGY).

But no, unless that SAE tool was the exact equivalent of a Metric size that would be stupid.

What you are really asking is places have dedicated cutters for every product as some are allergic to any of them.

Yes, essentially. Jersey Mike's is the only chain deli that went out of business here from the boycotting. The rest have two slicers or more.

Wow, ok, I'm glad you are the minority.

Why? If I don't have allergies or religious restrictions why would I give a fuck if they use the same meat slicer on both pastrami AND mortadella?

I'd dare say the majority of delis that I go to are non-kosher and only have 1 meat slicer; I'll have to keep an eye out.

Almost got hit head on by driver texting on phone on a two lane highway. 55 MPH. 10 foot drop at edge of shoulder, no rail. Almost bit it.

Yesterday I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and this morning I hiked back out. I went to my motel only to find that 1) my room wasn't ready and 2) it wasn't ready because the water was shut off. I JUST WANT TO TAKE A SHOWER AND GO TO BED!!!!

Hate my job, want to quit, but then I can't buy useless expensive shit for the next while.

Not sure if third- or first-world: manager is making me come in early and leave at the same time. Because traffic sucks so bad, means I have to leave earlier and sleep earlier, so now my non-work related time falls to barely 4 hours a day.

My new electric razor should have been here, but still in transit.

On the upside, received a nice bonus check at work I wasn't expecting.
