I could barely stay awake at work in the afternoon despite downing a coffee... Maybe it was a decaf.

Damn it...I just got back from the dentist a little while ago.

(got my teeth cleaned.SO TENDER right now...)

My teeth/gums have never been tender after a dentist cleaning... not when it had only been 6 months and not even when it had been 5 years.

Effing surveyors didn't connect all the lines in their CAD drawings, now I have to redraw a ton of stuff manually.

Idiot hit another vehicle in the front by following too close. Half of the interstate shutdown so I was late at work this morning.

My ceramic plate cracked in the microwave -- I think because I didn't notice an issue when I took it out of the cupboard. Realized this half-way through my curry + rice frozen dinner when I saw the crack. Should have dumped it, but kept eating it since I didn't want to waste the food. Ended up biting down on the only small chip that broke off the plate. Spit it out... More worried about the lead/cadmium I swallowed -- yes, they use that shit in some ceramics with the idea that the glaze locks it in.

Yeah actually I've thrown out a lot of those and bought a lot of Pyrex clear plate sets lately.

Just to get rid of that kind of things these days, I really didn't trust many of my old ceramic ones much myself over the lead thing.

Initially bought two sets, I told her to go get another while still on sale and throw most of the ceramic out, other than a few good pieces for serving and not cooking.

I spent most of the afternoon so far -- paranoid -- researching lead-free dinnerware. Best solution appears to be Corelle (think it's under the same company as Pyrex) because they use Vitrelle, which is actually layers of glass (doesn't include all pieces like their mugs that use stoneware?). There's some conflicting information about its lead-freeness online. Still looks like the best idea, probably going to grab some more -- we have a few pieces already.

Too bad stainless steel and microwaves don't go together.

Fucking hung over this morning.

(Went to a local bar-The Yard House on SW 5th & Taylor- with about 6 other co-workers-both guys and gals.. after work yesterday).

First time ever drinking beer-I'm 31-and I had 3 Kona Longboard Lagers.

Quite good-tasting- along with the cheeseburger & fries I also had..

Who gets hungover after 3 beers? You must weigh 90 pounds.

Yeah Corelle is good too, still have a really nice set of old mixing bowls and several storage ones from them.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Not a fan of Corelle. It gives the plastic look in a package that breaks into a million tiny slivers when dropped on a tile floor. I wouldn't worry about lead in dinnerware as long as you aren't buying Chinese stuff. It's more of a concern in children, and in any case, it just makes you stupid. Life is happier when you're stupid ;^)

The game between Georgia and South Carolina is giving me a heart attack. Back and forth. So close, especially the fourth down play with about 1:30 to go in 4th quarter.

NM, after going and looking at them a bit the mixing bowls are Corelle.

The storage ones are mostly clear Pyrex or Anchor.

I think there are a few other older Corelle designer storage ones.

The ones that really bother me are the first gen dinnerware that had floral patterns and stuff printed on them. I also don't like the thin profile. For dinnerware, I like heavy stoneware. I've pieced together a decent collection of Phaltzgraff Folk Art pattern. A lot of their stuff is from China now though. If buying new, I like Fiestaware a lot. I'd get that in a bunch of different colors.

If he was dehydrated before going, didn't drink water after, and isn't used to drinking, I can see it being very easy to get hungover after 3 beers.
And weighted 90 lbs....

As an aside, I have 2 friends that are allergic to hops, barley or malt so just a couple of beers make them feel like crap in the AM....and they always blame it on me.():)

It's getting chilly here. So I had to turn on the natural gas heater in my 3 car garage to keep my cars warm.
