Who was one of the, if not THE, greatest rulers in the history of the world? Ashoka
As one of the greatest historians, H.G.Wells, said, "In the history of the world there have been thousands of kings and emperors who called themselves 'their highnesses,' 'their majesties,' and 'their exalted majesties' and so on. They shone for a brief moment, and as quickly disappeared. But Ashoka shines and shines brightly like a bright star, even unto this day."
And please, before you say "Geometry" and "Trigonometry" were invented by the Greeks, do some independent reading and research. Sine and cosine are extensively discussed in the 3rd Century text called Surya Siddhanta; used to predict celestial bodies' movements, eclipses etc.
The people who tell you Greeks invented them are the same ones who thought Arabs invented the numeral system! LOL! It is also coming out now that Calculus, basic differentiation and integration, were also done by Indian mathematicians in Kerala in the 12th Century CE.
After 1300 years (since 712 CE) of subjugation, plunder, rape, and murder (first by muslim arabs and then christian british), India was devastated, economically speaking. Yet, it is the oldest surviving civilization in the world. The same prayers that were said on the banks of the river Saraswati (in modern day pakistan) thousands of years ago are still repeated daily by 100s of millions of Hindus worldwide. This is but a small example.
I don't mean to come across as arrogant, but most people, Indians included, are woefully ignorant about their true history. After all, India is the only country in the world with the dubious distinction of having its history being written by outsiders (non-Indians)! And many great Indian historians have tried to correct this Marxist-Euro-centric viewpoint however the so-called 'scholars' from the ivory towers yell "nationalist", "Hindu fanatic" or some nonsense. Pretty sad, but the truth cannot be hidden for long.
