What ethnic groups have brought the most to the world

This is a loaded question.

It depends upon the person you are asking. Ask an Arab ... it's the Arabs. Ask a Greek ... it's the Greeks (watch "My Big Fat Greek Wedding").

Every culture has an over-inflated view of their importance within the Universe.

Okay. Try to take a step back and be objective.

Take the Greeks for example. Here are some things they've contributed: geometry (see Euclid), medicine (see Hippokratis), theatre (see Aesclylus), mathematics (see Thales), astronomy (see Aristarhos), language (all languages are based on Greek - see relative articles for Greek words existing by the thousands in all modern languages), music (see the Pythagorean system of numbers-in-music), democracy (see Pericles).

I think ALL "ethnic groups" have had their "age of enlightenment," but most "lost" it somewhere along the way...

The Persians had theirs, the Greeks had theirs, hell, even the Incas are supposed to have had knowledge in some areas, far beyond what we know today. Of course, if what they knew didn't jibe with what the Jesuits "knew" it was destroyed as heresy...

Why do you say that?

You are must be a Greek.

Asian languages, and Sanskrit base languages aren't Greek root. Persians greatly contributed math & science to our culture, and Chinese contributes gun powder/rockets/calculator/computer and medicine, South America contributes much of our modern medicines and food stock plants.

we all built upon each other. no one group did everything by themselves. also, schooling in the US emphasizes european importance, so most americans will think european cultures did the most.

No, I'm not Greek.

Can I not admire the Greeks without being one?
